SS is a tarbaby no sane politician will want to mess with at least as far as reducing a benefit especially for those already receiving them. Too many votes will be impacted at election time. Probably will raise the full retirement age and the tax deducted from payroll first. I can see that happening. I'm glad I waited until 70 to max out the benefit, however.

I used to post on a early retirement board. I was the oddball as I loved my work and didn't want to stop. None of them want to hear the stats on early retirement either. (on average) for every year you retire early, you will die one month early.
