This is a quote from my site this morning, from an old member to a new member,,,,,,,

We're not saying that FF is bad per se, I've seen plenty of good buds grown with them, but there are better fertilizers for far less money. I bet you have some leaf drop through the flower cycle. That's really not supposed to happen. Many folks say that you need your plant to eat itself at the end to have it taste good. Maybe if you've been overfertilizing (a common problem as many folks think that plants are like people and feeding them more will make them fat) but my plants after a 2 weeks of cure after drying always get comments about the quality of the taste and smoothness of the smoke. And even with environmental issues my quality is still top notch. I've had plenty of top shelf flowers and it is very rare that something impresses me. When it does it has almost always been grown by another Riddler

Most of us do things quite differently from the canna growing norm. I remember when a good friend was visiting from CO and wanted to know what I was using for odor control and I told him "happy plants don't stink" the look on his face was priceless. He couldn't believe that I didn't have some kind of amazing carbon filter
Another time a friend came to water plants when I was away for a few days. When I was talking to him afterwards he said "I thought they were supposed to smell"

I like how it copies our smilies here, we have the best smilies !!!
Read the FF nutrient schedule...
You will see you are supposed to continue using veg formula almost to the very end of the grow.
If people follow the schedule properly, they do not have leaf drop.
You do have a point with the money though. To properly use FF you need atleast two types that you use almost throughout the grow. So not only are you paying more per bottle, but you need atleast two bottles.

I'm glad that you are here and helping other growers. I'd say your biggest mistake is responding to the children. It's best to just ignore the immature comments, because you know that children will never stop.

Growers who want to learn will be interested in your posts, and most will not comment. One thing to realize about Rollitup is that we always have 5 times as many Guests online as we have posting Members.

And some of the members have not grown up yet.

I've been preaching to growers for 20 years to not harvest early, but most do anyway. Once the Seedbanks started advertising, everyone knew that their Flowering Times for a strain were shortened as a marketing ploy, but that notion has been lost over the years. Now growers are bragging about their strain that is mature in 50 days! And no matter what anyone tells them about it not being ripe, they just refuse to believe it.

It's good to hear from you!

This ones not really an informative thing but more of a personal question - With all the effort / time / money you've put into breeding your strains, do you share them with people or keep them to yourself? I could see why you wouldn't want to just give away your hard work to people, but also would think you'd like to share your achievements with the world...just curious.

My strains are growing all over the world, one guy is currently crossing my Mob Rules to a Chem Dog. No one has ever paid for my beans I give em away to those that visit and as I said earlier I get lots of visits.

hell everyone at my website is like family, we have gatherings and parties even, just had a weekend bash on the east coast where Riddlers met and traded beans

Oooh - Colorado Thunderfuck, Here I Come :) JK...but that's definitely cool. I know there are some guys that like to keep their accomplishments to themselves so I was just curious where you stood on that...

Have you considered being a vendor? Or supplying vendors with your strains for retail?

awhile back I started a thread that got locked, though it was not my intention their were folks that said I came off as a dick and for that I apologize. Perhaps I tried to hard to prove my point?

I would like to ask that you go there and read the whole thread, yeah it's rough but there are tidbits of great info in it !!!
https://www.rollitup.org/t/if-your-a-new-grower-youre-gonna-wanna-see-this.828754/

it's only 10 pages, so does not take a lot of time and once you have read it and seen the pics, perhaps we can have a discussion/debate with less aggravation?

I have bred 3 strains that do this and I (just today) have ordered a microscope camera and a THC test kit so I can take better pics of the amber trics and test them for CBN's.

You will see some of the research I found posted in that thread, I have tons more but what boils down to is that over the last decades breeders have been breeding the CBD's out of strains with the notion that more THC is a good thing, I on the other hand have spent the last 5 years breeding the CBD's back in and I believe this is why I get the early amber. Because I am interested in both the medical aspect and the old time high that is missing from todays strains I carefully picked older 80's strains to begin my breeding program which included a landrace thai and a landrace afghani.

It seems that current research into the Entourage Effect ,,,,,,,
http://www.beyondthc.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/EntourageEffect.pdf
which has discovered it is a combination of THC, CBD and the terpenes that give our plant its best medical qualities also explains why pot has changed over the years.

There was a really good discussion that was somewhat similar here at RIU a few years ago,,,,,
https://www.rollitup.org/t/new-high-times-suggests-harvesting-earlier-riu-rejoice.401972/
again, it is best to read the whole thread (11 pages) about how (and why) the strains have changed and how the interpretation of the amber trics has changed as well.

If after reading this stuff we could have a discussion that would be great !!!
Nice I agree This NUGS they call it I got more stoned off the Skunk I used to get out of phoenix. And the HIGH lasted so much longer. I just grew a Northern lights bush and now am on old skool midwestern PK RIPPER.

I agree on the 11$. I too use very lil nutrients in my grows. I use 25% of recommended amounts. But i grow only 4 at most. right now just one girl under one light. Same nutrients my peppers were sucking down. Some roots organics primordial solutions sea green and 4 part basic nectar for the gods... My 50 gal res keeps water temps at 65-72 even on 90 degree days. Now i use a ebb and flow/dwc
WOW id love to try some of you beans.. I either have to clone my own or i don't have any.. NO access to seeds except the 10 i had that were 5 years old

I attended the get-together Hogbud mentioned, and it was epic. There wasn't a moment where at least one joint, bong, vap, or volcano wasn't going. I came home with some amazing seeds to boot!

It was great rubbing elbows with some of the best growers in the country (in my opinion).

I have to say that I've done many of Hogbud's suggestions and they work....and I questioned my sanity each time until I saw the results. After spending a ton of time on the private site coming back here and reading the perpetuated myths that seem to fill this site, I wonder how I or anyone else ends up with good grows.

I'm glad Hogbud is setting the record straight here on RIU.
