Hey guys, can you please help identify this deficiency?

Welcome to RIU.

Tell us more about your setup. Strain, grow media, any special techniques, nutrients, feed/water sched, ppm/EC, ph, RH, lights? More info is better.

Peace :peace:

Ahh thank you for the quick response and the welcome :)

White widow
Happy frog soil
5 gal smart pots
I mainlined but only 4 colas
Feed every 3 days
-spring water
-1 GAL with 1tsp of calmag (1st water)
-1 GAL with 1tsp of calmag plus 3tsp of big bloom and grow big (2nd water)
TEMP 70
Humidity 50-55
600w led lights
They're about 12 inches tall, about 2.5 months old
2/4 of them are showing these deficiencies but the big one is the worst.

I so appreciate your help :)

Are you measuring pH and ppm/ec of your feed mix? I've never used big bloom and grow big. It might be that the feed is too strong and/or the ph is not in the ideal range. If that's the case you can get lockout, which may present symptoms that look like a deficiency.

Technically you can run that grow TAP water as medium has buffers to control ph. Plus … municipal water sources have “ somewhat “ adequate amounts of calcium and mag in it.

I am not measuring PH. I increased the nutes slowly, going from 1/4 to 1/2 strength now.

Our tap water has tons of chlorine in it so I've been using spring water from a local source.

I'll test the PH from the runoff next watering. I'm glad to see all the replies. You guys rock.

Any immediate advice on what I should or shouldn't do?

I was thinking cal or phosphorus deficiencies. Or maybe over watering. The soil feels dense near the root. I used my hands to move it around some to break it up. Thanks again. I felt alone this whole time with no one to help until today :)

Certainly no resident expert.....I know lack of Mg will result in deep veins/ridges/yellowing.......and maybe need some K and P........

Hey man, I would say increase nutrients slowly, week after week, and just make sure the feedings are at a proper ph. When I grew a plant with bottled nutrients, I used to increase the dosage by 0.5 ml/l weekly. I was using AN ph perfect micro, grow, bloom. And I stopped increasing the dosages when I saw a little bit of nutrient burn on the tip of the leaves, I stopped at 3.5 ml/l.
You are doing good, just the ph thing is probably your problem.

I highly recommend you get a ph meter and ppm meter. You cannot know if the right thing to do is increase nutrient dosage without measuring. It's just a speculative guess. I use this cheap one from amazon. You must recalibrate the ph meter somewhat frequently. I recalibrate once per month.

So increase the nutes for next time?

I'm glad people are chiming in.......

Great advice, glad you posted......at my old job when using pH meter, it had to be calibrated every time right before use..............this was long time ago, probably more accurate/less drift on newer instruments.............................I'm always a tad skeptical of many electronic devices ..........I take a triple beam balance any day over an electronics scale, an ASTM thermometer over digital thermometer etc.

Hey thanks. You guys are really great. I'm glad I joined up. I'll do like you said and keep you posted. If the PH is off do I just add pH up or pH down like I would in a hot tub or pool?

And 1 other things I haven't seen people say, you are running LED lights your Temps are to cool with LEDs you want 80-85 degrees.

I have a heater and a humidifier in there so that wouldn't be a problem. Thanks man
I wouldn't have heater to close, best if you could open a flap on the lower part of your tent and set the heater outside and let your exhaust fan suck in the warm air so it's not directly on your girls.

Just use grow big 6-4-4.No bloom.Feed to runoff every 3rd one.So feed, water water feed etc.

Big Bloom is good stuff. I'm not a fan of the other FF bottled stuff though.

I'm confused on how much you're giving though. 1st and 2nd water? But you water every 3 days?

I stuck it in the corner facing the wall. It worked great when it was cold but now it hardly turns on. Thanks for the advice. I figured it wasn't a good idea to have it blowing straight on.
