Hey Folks........... Please help me out and advise which route should be taken.......

Very new and VERY confused to all this .... like 67 days ago when sprouted a little girl and as of today she's hanging high to dry....First ever....and a shit load of fun watching it grow. Sorry about the language but I get excited about it. Now we want to grow again but a bit more cause we don't want to wait till our money founds get better so we are going on a budget. We will be doing one of those standard seven foot upright grow boxes... top portion for flowering and bottom underneath for veggies.... 3 feet wide by 3 feet deep. My question is - if I use (two) 42watt 200w daylight CFL twist bulbs ( 2800L / 6500K each ) will this be good enough because I see that the grow CFLs that are rated at 125watts give off the same amount of Kelvin but the Lumens are much higher rated at 4820L. I have read everywhere on the net that the Lumens are the measurement of the total amount of VISIBLE light. So that said, with the small area we will be growing 3 plants at a time.... do you think we would show a better grow by using the stronger watts/and higher Lumens....?.... MAN! after looking at what I just wrote looks confusing before it gets submitted, Sorry but I told you in the beginning that I was confused.. so please try to make the best sense of this and let me know...and I haven't even smoked yet. :wall:

Just save alil and get a cheap 250w MH/hps ballast and just the socket so you can do a vert grow. Look into that

hey man

this is how the whole thing works in order of dence buds

cfl..........good for seedlings and clones starting but the power is lacking in flowering (more u add hotter it gets)

t5s...........better for seedlings and clones and have a higher lumen output to heat (2 ft are 2000 lumens a bulb 4 ft are 5000 lumens HO T5)

HID.........are the best due to the high lumens and general over all output can get from them (digital ballast with a cool tube setup)

LED.........are just as good as HID little better if u need to be on the downlow and do not want to do much ducting and venting (600w LED is equal to 1000w HID)

if money is a issuse the tactic i used was simple a buddy will want something u have and at a good price tell them if they give u 200 bucks now they get a life time price of 300per oz ..........u just have to keep growing some strong stuff and they will be more then happy (sell 3 for 100bucks make a free quater or profit)

cfls u are lucky to pull a oz out of it
t5s u will get a oz or oz and half a plant
hid depends on the strain i gotten 4 oz off one plant so far (skills refining they are increasing)

u can get a whole digital ballast off amazon for under 200 bucks .........or some T5 grow lights (looks for ones that is daisy chain able) badboy is becoming the new top dog in T5s
