So it’s my first time, growing in coco that I buffered , buffed enough for the first transplant about a week ago maybe even two weeks , sheesh time flies. So my question is how do you guys let it sit, if you do let it sit, and how long is it fine like that? Do I need to rebuffer? I should add that I did a flush to get the buffer solution out because I read to do that. And I won’t be using that flushed coco until I transplant, which I should add I haven’t even started to germ. I wanted to germ and put into coco solo cups should I be watering the solo cups with calmag and how big of a dose? I shouldn't be feeding nutes to germinating seeds/seedlings right? if this is all too much even any info would help. I'm stuck.

Bonus question : Also when you guys use coco does dimataceous earth work since coco has to stay wet and DE is the opposite?

Enlighten yourself.........www.cocoforcannabis.com.
Everything you need to know about growing in coco.

I feed daily to substantial run off starting around day 3 from sprout.
Never give plain water.
Never let it get dry.
I use tap water, so I never have to use calmag.
No, I don't use diatomaceous earth.

The thing about coco for cannabis info is he never uses it for seedlings :/ the only reason I didn’t use rapid rooters was cus it looked like the ones at my hydro store was just “hot” like it had been sitting there, so I figured it would be safer just to do seedlings in coco

Can anyone chime in on seedlings? I prepped coco and have them in 5 gal bags just the soil. No seeds. I flushed the buffer solution out of the soil with plain water, now what, should I water til run off with cal mag water? And it’s ready to go for seedlings?

There is a whole article about seedlings.

No need for jiffy pellets. I start my seeds right in starter pots or solo cups. I don't buffer my coco like that site suggests or how you did as that info is for unwashed, unbuffered coco from bricks. I use Canna Coco Professional out of the bag and run a nutrient solution of 0.4 EC through it to wash out fines and prep it for my seeds.

Do you give cal mag in every watering? Or what’s your technique with it?
It can depend on your source water.

what is the EC of your source water?

What amount of Ca and Mg is in your nutrients?

Most of us use a basic A/B formula

seedling early veg 0.4-0.6
Mid veg 0.6-0.8
Late veg 1.0
Early flower 1.0-1.2
Mid flower 1.0-1.4
Late flower 0.6-1.0 reducing slightly towards the end.
Harvest.

I have to use Calmag in my mix almost every time due to my Source water 0.2EC and my nutrients containing 4% Ca and 2% Mg.

Personally I don’t buffer my coco ( canna coco pro) I don’t even rinse.

I just mix 0.4EC and start using it.

I start with 3-4PPM ro water, get that up to 275-300 with cal mag, as long as your base water is within 250-300 you should be good…what I do with new coco is I flood the ever loving shit out of it when I transplant
