Herming?

Week 5-6 of flower in soil, 400w hps, Temp @ 72°- 79°, Humidity @ 45% most of the time. Never too bad of signs of nute deficiency or toxicity. Everything is going well other than today what appears to me are 3 pollen sacks on the 5th nodes on only 1 plant and no nanners on buds. Could it just be genetics? This is my first grow so any help would be appreciated..

First 2 pics look that way. Pollen sacs with some water and remove, try not to pop them open! Watch for others. Haven't had the problem so my advise is just from what i have read or seen in other posts

Damn, I thought I was out of the woods. Apparently I have to watch my girls all the way through till when? Like when is there a 0% chance of them hermin out? Like if I make it through week 6 and everything is looking good am I in the clear or am I still at risk. And dammit now I wont rest until I get out a magnifiying glass and look under the canopy.

Never out of the clear. Herming is a self defense mechanism. If they knew we were going to harvest them, they'd herm out EVERY time. If you leave a lady and never pick her buds, she will herm and make seeds so she can live on next year.

First two for sure. That bud also has some pretty yellow nanner looking growth in the middle. Sucks but I'd have to say all hermed out. That 2nd pic is about to burst any day now.

Edit: It looks like you defoliated. Possibly a little too much. Hard to tell but those nodes are bare. If you took too much off at once, it can certainly be the stress needed to cause herming.

Might just be genetics- keep eyes peeled for nanners or more balls, i don't see any nanners on your bud. You'll know if she starts to herm propper... seeds need a few weeks to do their thing, so if you can make it to a week or two before harvest, you can relax from that point on. Really, you can relax at this point too. It's just a few seeds if you keep it under control. If they get really seedy, then you might lose noticeable harvest weight and quality.

I appreciate the replies! I carefully removed the 3 visible sacks and immediately took the contaminates out of the grow room and hoping for the best

I carefully removed the sacs off and opened them up in another room (so other plants won’t get contaminated) and I didn’t see any pollen, di

Buds have zero nanners that might’ve just been my shitty iPhone camera but that plant did go thru mainline training and lollipoping, but why would it show signs of herm after 5 weeks of flower if it was training or defoliation stress? Just seems weird to me but who knows- thanks for the replies!

It's just one of those things. It's a stress trigger. Now.. if you defoliated weeks or months before.. then nah it didn't cause that. What I'm talking about is too much defoliation at once, heading into full flower. It's a yield method, and if overdone, can cause major problems if not just flat out kill the plant.

Yes the defoliation was done probably around 3-4 weeks ago and didnt show any signs of stress or anything until yesterday the hermie showed up

Yeah there is absolutely ZERO risk of me not pickin her buds lmao. But I am now checkin nodes and buds everytime I open the tent. Damn I thought 5 weeks into flower I was all good...damn.
