Hey it’s a bit unusual for this to happen as early as week 3 of the flowering stage with Blue Runtz or any strain.
Typically, the pistils start to darken and curl in as the plant gets closer to harvest time. That usually happens around week 6 or later. If it’s happening earlier, it could be due to a few factors:
- Stress: This could be from heat, light burn, pH imbalance, or nutrient issues. Check your setup to see if any of these could be causing premature browning.
- Pollination: If your females have been exposed to male plants or pollen, they may be producing seeds, causing the pistils to darken.
- Genetics: Some strains naturally have darker pistils. Although, with Blue Runtz, they typically stay white or light orange until closer to harvest.
