Hermied at 5 weeks

Hey new here and first post. I have 4 small plants max 30 inch tall in one reservoir, now in 5th week flower, and starting to get frosty. Just discovered a few balls on 3 of them and looks like only 2 may have opened the rest have not. I picked off the ones I could find and I found a banana on on the fourth one. Also have 3 others in another reservoir that have no signs of hermie and have grown to 40-44 inch, and look good! This is my first run at this and know I should pull the hermie as to not pollinate the rest.. but am I to late at this point?

If you don’t mind spending time inspecting the girls just pick em off if not too bad. Water will make the pollen non viable so I always drop the little shits into a bowl of water until I’m done inspecting, just in case.
I rarely have problems with them buuut occasionally a strain will do it. Some more prone than others. Always check for light leaks or some kind of other stressor first.

Story time!

I had 9 SFVog x SSSDH clones and had a pump failure, which caused them to underwater and hermie in flower. Most plants I picked 5-6 little sacks off, I had to chop one plant because there were waaay too many to deal with. I had no seeds at harvest.

On the flip side I grew out BOG’s Lifesaver and didn’t see a single banana all grow, and those fuckers were FULL of seeds. 5 lifesavers alongside 13 other plants of various strains and only the Lifesavor was riddled with seeds. The oddest shit ever.

Moral of the story is Hermies suck. If they aren’t too bad you can pick em off.

Thanks for the advice! I'm gonna try to just pick them off as they show, there hasnt been many yet so its manageable so far. I did have a light leak between veg and flower, now fixed, and a fluctuating ph off the start also fixed. I'm just concerned of making my big ones full of seeds. I did take 12 monster cropping clones for the next round

Happened to me too around 3. but with 38 plants. (grow in my signature) It happens. Sorry. A lot of times, the hermed plant won't affect the one next to it hardly (might have a few seeds) but of course this depends on how many male flowers, air circulation, proximity, etc.
