If Democratic Socialism were to take hold in America there would be very few poor after a while. Once all the big companies and wealthiest 2% were taxed fairly the wealth would be redistributed fairly instead of channeled up. American jobs would pay a fair, livable wage instead of month to month. Everyone would have access to a free education, free healthcare, free child care, up to a year of paid maternity leave, 4-6 weeks paid vacation a year. Sounds terrible huh?
taxed fairly? do you even know the meaning of the word "fair"? for that matter, what do you consider a fair, livable wage? should a janitor who grudgingly puts in his few hours a day be living as well as the business owner who risks his life's savings to actually create the wealth he earns?
social democrats have become the bane of our civilization. demanding free this and free that for everyone, simply because some can afford these things. you are the apologists for failure. declaring that all which exists is the property of the society at large, an equal piece of which belongs to every tom, dick and harry that draws breath and that no one, regardless of how indolent they may be, must be left out of the great give-away. you are the dupes of statist authority. perfectly happy to allow government to dole out the wealth of others, because you can't or won't strive for excellence yourself and see no reason why anyone else should either. your blindly bleeding hearts can only admit to evil if you see it in those you consider more successful than they should be.
of course we can eliminate poverty. all we need to do is make everyone poor and penalize success so drastically that no one dare ever rise above their station. you were born into a world with so much ready made wealth, you simply can't imagine that every ounce of it was created by someone else long before you were anything more than an embarrassing stain in your daddy's drawers. get it through that thick skull of yours, man is not naturally wealthy. it took industry, skill, risk and luck to create all which you would so blithely give away and no one has the right to decide that that private property should suddenly become public. no one has the right to wipe away what is often generations of effort to placate their own envy and greed. least of all a schmuck like you.
