you mention SCROG here...is this difficult for a first time grower? Also, under 40 watt fluorescents, how much space should I allow for each plant? My space will probably be constrained to rectangular growth...is that plausible? At what point during vegetation do you implement SCROG? Thanks!

How can I get rid of algae? I have 1 plants in hydro and I can see healthy, green algea on the roots, between the bottom of the net pot and the water line (in the air space). How can I safely get rid of it. My plants are 3 weeks into flowering....I am NOT using organic nutes. I currently have epson salts and SM-90. I use the SM-90 with every res change and I change the res once a week....What can I do to eraducate it and prevent it from coming back...
Thanks in advanbce,

some of the questions here are just rediculous. folks need to do some research before asking the same questions over and over!

re: the clones. I was having the same problem in that I could do everything else but have success with clones - I was at 25% survival. But, I just nearly perfected the process and some people probably have other ways of doing it, but this is what works for me. I have a success rate of about 90%. I use rockwool and root the cuttings with the wool at about 75% capacity of what it can hold for water sometimes using cloning gel/powder, sometimes not. Get yourself a dome and a heat pad and keep the temp around 75(or ten degrees warmer than outside the dome) and I spray them only the first couple of days. At about a week in I check to make sure the cubes are still moist and they should be if you keep the temp at what it should be. For lighting I use a couple of low watt cfls, you don't need much light at all, in fact too much will burn them. In a couple of weeks I have beautiful roots. Don't over complicate the process. The simpler the better. The heat mat is key in being able to keep the temp consistent.

Just for shits and giggles I tried to root some this time around with no dome in straight pro mix in a solo cup. No gel or powder applied. I was 4 for 4, spraying them only a couple times with straight H20 of over the course of a couple of weeks and rewetting the pro mix once.

Let your tap water sit out for 24 hours and you should be fine. They should perk up within 24 hours of you putting them in wool so I can offer no advice there.

Hope this helps. Good luck.

ok so i would like some info on snapping the main stem on a plant, will it help the plant out with more growth? caus some old school grower i know snap there plants and it turns out they get like alot more yeild. id like this cleared up caus im experementing on my plants!

I had the same problem over and over so I ditched the dwc, I always believe it was because of fox farm nutes, on my part. But water temps and ph and light leaks can all effect it, man I am sorry but from ol skoo growers they seem to have some kind of (6th sense connection to that kinda shit) IDK but here is link to 42 pounds from ten plants inside with a 3 week veg period...lol now what!

HELP! Hey man, glad ur kind anuff 2 help me grow MJ! Ok, i have a plant, it is in the 7th week of flowering. I got the seed from a friend. He grew a huge plant and it turned hermie at the end. He yielded a little over a pound. with a fuck ton of seeds. Still really fine herb tho. It is a sativa. I think i have about 4 or five more weeks. He harvested at 12 weeks of flowering. We think it turned hermie due to light leekage and stress. So i know the herm is in the girls genes. I stressed 1s with i top and i burned her slightly twice, (no EC meter). Today i cut off a little 2 test her out, plus i was jonesin 2 smoke. i found something that looked kinda like a seed. not sure if it was a little ball that the pistils came from or calax or whatever it was. i smashed it with my fingers and there was some goopy white shit in it. I hope 2 god this did not turn hermie. I check everyday on everything. I read that if a female gets pollenated by a male, you can turn off the fan and mist everything from plant to walls during darkness. This will screw with the pollen i guess, and reduce seeds. Would this help with a hermie? Would it help if i pulled off pollen sacks if i spot them? If it is producing seeds should i harvest now or wait and see what happens? I read once a plant starts 2 produce seeds it really does not produce ne more bud. So if this plant is a dirty slut herm, is there any way i can save he/she? Maybe some how stop seed growth or slow it down and encorage bud growth? Any saving or helping this at all, if hermie? I have 4 or 5 more weeks should i wait it out even if it is hermie. I also read u get most of ur weight during the last couple weeks. Would i get more bud growth at all, if hermie? Think it would help if i eased up on nute, maybe that would take energy away from seed production? Plezzz help and pray 4 me O'brother of christ!Scary, this hermie thing. Better my plant than my girlfriend tho huh? but please give me a respones, Look forward to it. thanks and later

I cloned a few plants (6) and when they finally rooted I put them in a DWC bubbler system. Within a few minutes they started to droop and wilt pretty bad...the tops falling over but the stems are still sticking up. They look bad and im just wondering what has gone wrong and should they bounce back. I didnt wait for a shit load of roots before I transplanted them but roots were visible at the bottom and sides of 2" rookwool cubes...Are they toast or will the bounce back??

I have them under 8 23wt cfls.

I guess I 'll know in the morning...sucks as these are G13 clones

hello, I've been using a small 10 gal. tote homemade aeroponic drip system. I'm using 2 6" net pots suspended in the tote. I started off my seeds in Rapid Rooter Grow Plugs, and put them in the 6" net pots surrounded with clay pellets. I have been running my water/nutes pump 24 hours a day, for my last two grows with good results. My question is should I continue running my pump 24 hours a day? Or should I only run it about three times a day for a hour each time ? Thanks for the help!

hey new here just got a couple simple questions, cool tube with reflector 400w what would it cover, how big would your room be if you had an 8 foot ceiling? run 1 votex fan connected to cooltube and scrubber pulling air out, or 2 fans one on scubber and then light seperate? figured a decent cfm sould do the job of both. ever heard of pushing air out a chimeny?

Seems the answer man isn't here so I'll act as stand in......starting backward from this one......

I don't use soil...but generally clones take 1-2 weeks (aero cloners claim 5 days)............I use a humidity dome the first week and keep moist, the 2nd week I take off the dome and let them nearly dry so the roots go look for water....... If they're healthy after 2 weeks, they're likely rooted........for soil......maybe go to a peat pellet or such...when the roots pop out the sides, pot them....

A 400 watt light is good for 3x3 to 4x4.........My trays are 42" x 26" so two side by side under one light.....the edges aren't prime but the rest is...... One fan for the light and the scrubber is fine.......with only one light it doesn't take that much to keep the temps in range....

On the drip system.........you can't ever let the roots dry out....... Clay pelets don't hold a lot of water like rockwool would so if you want to try something different get a timer with 15 minute tabs and go on/off/on/off all around the dial......I use that for my aero cloner and it helps them root slightly faster......can't swear it'd be better for you, but I think it would.....and the roots aren't going to dry out in 15 minutes unless it's way too hot in the room anyway.

Yeah Jumbo......you can do a hardening technique removing the dome... I take mine off every day, fan the clones and replace the dome....when you go to take it off, do it for an hour...if they droop put it back on, when they perk up, take it off............once you can remove it without any droop, leave it off and you should be ready to grow....I give mine an extra week so roots are really popping once I take off the dome.....then they go under a 175 for a week then right to a 400 for the rest of their short lives...
