Sigh. This is one of those "law abiding gun owners" that we don't need to hinder with any of those pesky laws, right?

I agree that guns don't kill people, but the fucking morons that are operating them sure can.

Perhaps some mandatory safety training isn't such a bad idea .....

Done all the training and i shoot at least 3 to 4 times a week at the range.

Go check your diaper!

my .223 is a savage. nice gun for the money. great factory triggers with nice actions and barrels. had to get the heavy barrel on it tho. it was only a few extra bucks and i shoot target regularly so it made sense at the time.
Great triggers? Is that a recent development? I have a Savage 300 WinMag from 2005 and the first thing I had to do was have an Accutrigger installed. The knock on Savages has always been their awful triggers.

The newer ones are real nice, the old ones only needed a bit of work to be nice. Its like the $200 people spend to replace the trigger group in the AR, when they could just spend a couple hours with a stone and make the stock trigger about perfect.

they all come from the factory with accutrigers now. i believe they started doing it in 2008. ive got mine dialed almost all the way down. its capable of 1.5-6 pounds. mine is somewhere around 1.75 pounds last i checked. when i dialed it all the way to 1.5 pounds the trigger feels a little sloppy so i up it just a tad bit and it feels great.

More sophistry. Only morons own guns? Is that it? You're own Freudian slip. :) The States with more armed citizens have less violent crime. Cause and effect. In fact, the counties with the most useful gun laws, have almost no violent crime. And the cities with the very strict laws have the most violent (not just gun) crime.

We are somehow not supposed to protect ourselves, but that just leads to the bad guys having more confidence. Cause and effect. Theory vs Real. There is absolutely no evidence that restrictive gun laws are good. They are bad except for the bad guys.

Kids should be taught to get real, if we want to solve this problem. Before we stated this boo-hoo-hoo social welfare state, there was no gun violence like this. Think about it.

Dont you think the strict laws are because of the violent crime that is going on and not the other way around.. i mean it is possible a few people get killed or stabbed or robbed because of some freedom of speech law that is passed. I doubt it. Im sure its been said but if more laws come its just going to hurt the honest man.

No way....the social welfare, hand out for the govt, trust the police, not yourself, mind tinkering, emotion tampering, loss of self respect, and loss of self reliance is what caused this.

The Teat of the Nanny State, meddling and interfering in the American family way of life, to put it bluntly.

I did not say that all gun owners are morons. Anyone who feels it's a good idea to get drunk and then go shoot their gun would most certainly be a moron, though.

Would you consider some type of mandatory gun training a "restrictive gun law"?

No, I think we should be trained as soon as we can be trained, but not started on live ammunition. :) Trained on safety. Shown reality. Taught responsibility. I can remember this so clearly, it gives me goose bumps.

Ready on the Right, Ready on the Left, Ready on the firing range....One round...Lock in Load. I was 8 years old. Boy Scout Merit Badge.

Get it....a Merit badge. Not a hand out. Drilled on the line for a day, before we actually got the round to Lock in. Safety tests for break time. Turned out my dad set it all up, although I didn't find that out until just last year.

BTW, people are stupid. Don't get me started on alcohol abuse and knifing incidents. The truth is the mentally ill are responsible for mayhem of all kinds and alcohol or not, there is very little we can do about it.

Mandatory, allowed, prohibited...none of that is about self reliance and self respect. To me, there is an entire Political Theory at play, where these attributes are thought to be old fashion, a clinging to guns and old beliefs.

IAC, what is wrong with shooting off guns when drunk? No law against it that I know of. Just do no harm.

No, just kidding. :) Alcohol is a two edge sword. It is a liver killer, for one thing. We kinda need that liver, I think.

Yeah!!Try that at the range moron.

I only shoot buzzed/drunk by myself.

What a bunch of idiots you folks are.

Do you consider anything unsafe to do while shit faced?

Call me a pussy, but playing with a gun would make my top 10 things NOT to do while drunk list.

Ohh, my bad. I just assumed that getting shit faced and firing your gun in your back yard was fucking around.

Do you tackle all of your serious work whilst drunk?

How is popping off a few rounds drunk serious work?

And please do show me where i advocate dumb people to shoot drunk/buzzed?
