Here Come the Girls - a First Timer's Adventure

True that, I had a couple of OG Kush’s die on me one week into flower a few weeks ago (got to slap dash with some Fish Blood & Bone meal, killed um a week later).

If that wasn't bad enough those Kush’s were going to be ready dried and cured for my birthday. I'm on a perpetual grow now and will have a harvest in September, but it wont be Kush now until October.

Gonna have to nurse this Kush I have now for 4 months, do you think I will make it?

Just had to suck it up and pop some more seeds in.

Increased vigilance and forward planning in the future ;-)
You killed them Herbs? Good Lord, how much Blood & Guts did you give those poor ladies? That sounds a nasty way to go, drowning in fish guts - poor you and poor girls. When's your birthday then? 4 months to wait on the last Kush? Blimey, it's a long old time... 'Course she'll make it, she's got the Herb Man looking after her (just no more fish gore - my plants are vegetarian, like me)!
I wish I could do a perpetual grow but don't you need two spaces for that? A separate Veg and a Flower room? I think I might just stick my New Recruits out in the garden and see what happens... x

Pearl has really perked up, really good job on the list, I have only just got around to reading up on it.

Seeing Pearl looking so full of promise is tempting me to give LST my first attempt with my three week olds.

How many nodes tall were they when you started bending the main stem Lady H?

You know I'm behind you all the way Lady H.
Hey Herbs, how are you? Yeah, Pearl has perked right up! The vinegar worked wonders. And thanks for the compliment on my LST, I'm actually rather proud. You have to give it a go! And if you have plants 3 weeks old then it's perfect timing. I started mine at 21 days I think, and about 5 nodes, not sure, I'll flick back thru the pics and have a look.

Read this...http://growweedeasy.com/lst-low-stress-training, it's a good place to start.
Then read the one on defoliation...http://growweedeasy.com/marijuana-defoliation-tutorial

You know I'm behind you all the way Lady H.
Good to know Herbs.

Lovely pics Lady H, You've been holding out on us , having us believe there's al sorts of problems, those plants look truly lovely.

The LST looks fine in those pics, should result in more shoots sprouting up from the middle. Good luck Lady H looking good.
Ah, thanks Bilbo. And you are right Hobbit, the shoots are zooming up from the middle and all along the main stem which is at a 90 degree angle (almost)!
Up date to come... Hx

I touched one of her buds last night and the stink that came off her on to my fingers transported me to a place back in time.
I. Can. Not. Wait.

On a side note, all of the New Recruits are up so I think I should maybe start another thread for them. Here's a quick pic. The first 2 came up Saturday morning and the third one came up yesterday so this morning they were squishing against the top of the propagator thing which is why they look a bit bent. Fourth one was up this morning.

O yea looks like that flush kicked that mag/def ass huh :hump:
i think thats what im gonna do for my girl, as her final flush, She is @ wk 7 but she is about 70%cloudy, So i think im gonna flush the begining of next week and throw her in the dark on the 4th and chop on the 5th.
How much vinegar did u use again, was it 5ml per gallon

No drama to report today (thank goodness).

Here are pics I took yesterday. I have repotted Pearl, not sure why I bothered as the new pot isn't that much bigger - wider rather than deeper. I also gave her a feed (10ml of Hessi Bloom in 2Ls of water) which added 5ml of vinegar to to lower the PH. I think she's looking good, if small.

Pearl @ day 70 - before repotting.

Here she is in her new pot.

And I finally got round to potting the New Recruits - a week after I planted them. I can't believe how uninterested I am in them this time round in comparison to last time. It's like when you have kids (so I'm told) - you fuss around the first one like it's going to break but by the time you have the second one you don't give a shit what they do.

Because I've not really paid them any attention and haven't even put them under the lights yet they've got super tall! Oops. Look.

Will be easier to LST I s'pose...

Seeya later. Lady Hx

PS I'm thinking of going away for a week/10days...is that a bad idea at this stage in the game?

Hey SweetestCheeba, you came back! Yeah I think the vinegar certainly did the trick and sorted her right out. Do it. I used Apple cider vinegar and I put 5ml in 2 litres of tap water. It was ph 7 before adding, and ph 6 after.

Just so you know - I pinched off most of her yellow leaves (the vinegar didn't cure that) and I also gave hera squirt with an epsom salt solution (5ml in 1L), this may have helped too.

So your lady, week 7 of flowering? What is she? How exciting about to chop! Good luck. Lady H x

Hey LH
Hopefully those roots take advantage of that extra space. And maybe it will show some great results in trich production or swelling!!!
As far as the seedlings, jus try to get the repotted so that u can bury those stems, The one in the back doesnt look to stretched jjus get some light on them to slow the stretching down.
Alot can happen overnight, im sure u know, IMO i would be teriffied to leave them for a week.

I totally forgot to say...I ordered some new seeds a couple of days ago (using my 30% discount for not knowing I had regular seeds last time!) - should already be winging their way to me.

I am quite excited, as I splashed out a bit and got 5 x Northern Lights #5 x Haze Feminised (yes, they are definitely feminised...). And then I also got 5 x Purple Haze Feminised (was feeling nostalgic - when I went to Amsterdam the first few times, on arrival I'd always buy a bag of White Widow and a bag of Purple Haze smoke a couple of joints and promptly fall asleep for the next 4 days...hahahaha, those were the days).

I want to practise cloning on the New Recruits so that I can clone the expensive seeds/plants.

Super. Excited.

I will be doing so on monday LH.
Im Lovin It LOL Every 2 or 3 days i check under my loupe and they are getting more and more cloudy by the day.
It really makes me think that the genes these bagseed carry have a short flowering time.
But i have most certainly learned that patience virtue.

Lol, yes killed um dead. Was busy, powdered in too much fish bone, blood meal and a week later 2 dead OG Kush's.

I was sad but I know that's a mistake that wont happen again. Birthday is at the end of August, I've got some Kush in a curing jar till then, it will have been curing for 4 months or so by then, it should be the Oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Yeah I' got two separate areas.

Good stuff Lady H.

I'm good Lady H, I'm mixing up my own teas/fertz like a Botanist, it takes some research but is very rewarding.

How you doing?

You used Apple cider vinegar? Good that it's doing it's job.

Yep my first LST is on it's way, probably grow it with a fim'd plant and do a side by side comparison of them till harvest, this Silver Haze is giving me ideas :joint:

Thanks for the links Lady H, I’m about to check them out.

Ps. Going away Lady H, how will your plants drink?

I tried those Blumat waterers when I was out of town for three weeks once. Results were mixed. The heat and inadequate ventilation made the plants stretch way out, but they did seem to have been irrigated. I was only using one per six-gallon pot, but I should have had at least three or four.

Coo-eee. I'm back from sunny Portugal! My sister seems to have done a good job of baby-sitting Pearl - all she had to do was water her tho. She's grown quite a bit I think. Will take pics now. V excited to be back.
