Hempy Style update

Whats good RIU?? So i just wanted to update my grow, for those that are interested. So a few things i learned from my first hempy bucket grow, 1 i read alot about this grow before starting it and one thing i read from hempy grows is that you dont need to PH your water....... VERY VERY WRONG.... those that are interested in trying hempy ill tell ya right now CHECK YOUR PH !!! i always grew in soil and used normal tap water and it worked great but without a PH meter i had no idea till i bought one that my tap water was 8.2 then after left over night it went up to 8.4 over 24 hours. I was using tap water to feed with and after 2 weeks i had major PH issues. All 4 of my plants were drooping, yellow, with brown spots, i read from a guy that goes "dont PH your feed i use a table spoon of GH flora nova nutes and my PH is 5.8" lol naw test your PH. Once i test the PH right it was game over from there, the plants exploded with growth.. Another thing, it dont really think it was a mistake but wasnt thinking clearly, i normally buy clones from Green Link out here in Seattle WA, i got 4 clones for 30 bucks and i veg them in my living room under a t5 4 foot light, well with a 40 gallon hempy tub with a 5 gallon res that bitch was heavy as fuck to carry on my own downstairs to my grow tent, idk ive had turbo kits that weighed just as much, but carrying a small piece of metal thats 160 pounds is alot differnt then carrying a 160 pound tub that moves and bends and is 4 feet wide.. Overall hempy is a great cheaper option to soil. Im growing maui wowie, purple arrow, maple leaf indica, and blackberry. Ya ya 4 stains in a tub this guy is insane but really this grow was just a test, once i move into my new house im going to just do a single strain in the tub with a scrog. So just to recap any of you wanting to try hempy TEST YOUR PH.... these clones are 14 days into 12/12 flip.

I dont know who started that whole ph doesnt matter thing in hempys but a lot of people believed that shit, and when you would tell them they had a ph problem they would say you dont need to ph hempys and your an idiot for suggesting such a thing. Good times

What is your mix? perlite - vermiculate?I have heard that vermiculate has the wrong ph so when you don't use it and use only perlite which is neutral you don't need to ph..

I use 100% perlite and yes you will have to check your ph, it doesnt matter what medium you use, PH will make or break your grow with hempy.

telling someone not to check PH when they have no clue what ph the water source is, they have no clue what nutes and amount of nutes you are using which will also effect the ph is just simply moronic.

Usually tap water is around 7 ,with the nutrients it will drop and become a little acidic, but yea measuring the ph is optimum..

I'm trying coco hempy feeding kiss style using w.o.w and vertical.. Going to see how this turns out. Just got everything putting fencing and stuff up today whenever it decides to come in the mail. I bought a bluelab ph meter so no worries there. I want a truncheon and stuff too, but I can only spend so much at once.... Hopefully I get a nice yield.

Interesting ive never heard of tap water being around 7, i live in Seattle and its around 8.4, when i lived in Portland Oregon it was 8.1 and when i lived in Montana it was 7.9, Distilled water is around 7 but i havnt personally lived in a city that boils and distills the drinking water. Where do you live that its normal tap water is 7ph? because thats awesome. Even in Norway were water is naturally more pure its not even a 7.

I only test ph a few times during the grow. I use cheap powder nutes and normal feeding strength brings the tap water down in the 5.8 - 6.2 range. I usually check when giving the first light feedings and when I think I need to give a water only feed. I'm sure the tap water ph fluctuates and the amount of nutes I measure varies a little but doesn't seem to make much difference to the plants so I don't check often.

your one of the lucky ones that can get away with it, im tryin ph perfect and I dont check ph anymore either because its always good but when I ran lucas I had to adjust it everytime. Water and nutes are different for everyone.

very true.....it depends on your water source and what nutes you are using

i know several people growing hempy that never check their pH, but they have the right combination of water pH and nutes.

Myself, my tap water is about 7, the GH nutes drop it way down, so i need to pH up

My tap is usually 6.5 too. I use well water up in the north east. Very good water I think.... I'm new to all this ph up and down because I normally used soil and read I didn't really need too... I never showed any real problems either so I'm not sure how true that is haha.... But since I changed methods I have to... And I bought the gen hydro ph control kit just because my hydro shop has the bottles alone for the same price and I needed a dropper anyways. Since I'm a newb I still add a little too much of up, and have to add down lol. Idk if that's a good Idea or not the first time I watered I used way too much down and my ph was 3.3!! I was like wow this shits powerful so any of you just starting to use this stuff... You don't need much only like a drop or 2.... If that there's time I bust little air bubbles and that's enough...
