When doing the hempy bucket exactly how big should my baby b b4 putting it in there? I have started 6 seeds in the peat pellets. all 6 are up and a few are starting to show roots at the bottom. maybe like one or two little roots but still I need to kno if I should put them in the bucket or not. out of the 6 plants im going to do 2 hempies so I just need to kno if i can put them in as seedlings or not. THey sprouted about 4 days ago and haven't really started to grow much yet.

r u going to keep them in the peat? what size container r u going to put them in? i would let the roots get a little more established then carefully remove the peat pellets and put them in a 16-32 oz hempy container.

Funny you mention t'planting from peat pellets to hempy buckets, because that's just what my spinster aunt Lilly does. She allows the roots to just begin poking out of the pellet and then buries the pellet in the hempy medium, almost all the way down but leaving the sprout just a little higher than her surrounding perlite-verm medium. Then she waters enough to keep the peat pellet moist but not necessarily enough to overflow the reservoir through the drain hole. When the plant starts growing fast, Aunt Lilly assumes that the roots have reached the res, and she starts her normal hempy overflow watering. FWIW, Aunt Lilly uses GH three-part nutes as per the labeled instructions and despises all manner of meters, saying that as long as your water isn't "really weird", then the pH won't be a problem.

i agree about the ph. the last two times i watered it was with 7.5 ph tap water and no ill effects. gh nutes r also also very good. when i use them with my ro water and wait a day it buffers right to 5.8-6.0. i think for ideal growth u want to keep ur nutes in the 5.8-6.2 range. one reason i started hempy was to learn about water and how to control it so I can move on to more advanced hydroponics. hempy is as easy and effective as it gets. i wish i would have started this way of growing from the beginning. by the way i use straight perlite. It holds water very very well I am surprised how long. If i was u I would go straight perlite as well.

I am using FF 3part trio and I was going to go with just vermiculite. but I think i may have got confused. is it 3 part verm 1 part perl or 3 part perl and 1 part verm??? I was just going to factor out the 1 part. If its 3 part perlite I guess I bought the wrong thing. I am going to use a 3 gallon container. And I just use normal tap water after sitting for at least 24hrs opened. My water here is in the top 10 in the country last I heard.

its perlite 3 or 4 to 1 vermiculite. i would go perlite only. i clone in straight vermiculite its real heavy. perlite holds a lot of water especially if the roots have not grow alot yet. i just went 7-10 days with out watering after transplanting from a 32oz to a 2.5 gallon under 1000 watts. read up a little more. you will be glad you went hempy it kicks ass. also you may want to start out in a smaller container

Not hating on the vermiculite but canna coco is just so much more better to work with I love it.Got some hempys in veg 50/50 coco and perlite works really well.under flours using gh just the micro and bloom working well for me and it leaves my RO water at about 5.6. 5.8 the grow really fast I go very low on the nutes cuz under flours they cant take high dose only feed higher dose once I putt them under the hps for flower.I love the hempy bucket so easy and cheap to make it's the poor mans hydro bucket..I hope this helps out some how best of luck bro.

sorry i am so fucken baked I didn't even say anything about how big ur clone/seedling should be. I wait till I have some nice fresh BRIGHT WHITE SPIKY roots from the rapid rooters. Then water it every day till the the roots reach the bottom perlite rez U will know when the plant will just start shooting off new growth.then u could give it a nice watering to get all that old water out (it might fucken stink) so mix a nice fresh batch....From what I have seen u can't really over water these things....And I once read that using more then a 2 gallon for a hempy is a waste. One guy pulled 250 grams off a 2 gallon hempy on another forum so keep that in mind....
