Thought I would throw up some updated pics as we start week 6!!

NOTE == This weekend I started noticing some deficiencies on the Side that has the Perlite, Vermiculite Mix, and not seeing the same thing on any of the plants in the 100% Perlite mix. So I am bumping up the PPM's just a little. I will also have to try and get some shots of the deficiencies to post here.. But find this kinda interesting and cant imagine the Vermiculite is causing the issue.. I wonder if its the Difference in the watering schedule?? Which also seems odd considering its only a days difference.

I have new Moms cupped and getting between 100 and 150 ppm's

The Afghan Kush is doing fine and Popping more roots.. She will go into a cup in the next couple of days.. She will provide Clones for us to grow.

...bro, you would do much better in yield with bigger pots, or perhaps hydroponics with those small pots.
Thanks for the Input Trich,, Your apparently not up to speed on what we are doing here.. This is the 2 Liter Sog run, where the Point is to simply grow one Large Cola in each 2 Liter container,, Not a couple Large plants with a bunch of Leaves and Branches. Check out 420fied's Journal "Come Sog With Me" and you will understand better.

Oh and Hempy is considered Passive Hydro..

...got ya, got ya. Sorry, didn't read the whole thread, just this last post. Not here to 'hate on you' as the youngsters say....experiments can be fun, none the less.

...passive hydro, very familure, you guys must be using a soilless mix (promix, sunshine mix, exc...)...and ofcourse fertilizing with synthetics...anywho, nice plants (starting to get pot bound yet?)

Yes, I have half my current grow in a Perlite, Vermiculite mix, and the other half in 100% Perlite. Feeding the Perlite daily and the mix every other day..

No root bound issues at all.. In fact still have a long ways to go before that would happen. I have actually seen very large plants grown in 2 liter hempy's.

420fied - Once I get a grow journal up I will link it. I have been delaying buying a new camera cord for my DSLR, I might just do photos on my phone instead.

Rusty - What are your symptoms of deficiency? I can't tell a difference based on the photos nor can I see the issue.

Okay,, Well here are the deficiencies I am looking at, Only on the Perlite, Vermiculite Mix side.

Some of the Burn look on the Margins are actually scars from when I was underfeeding this strain, they tend to roll and look like its been overfed, but as I pumped up the PPM's the Roll/Curl straightened out, and over a couple of weeks, left scars where they had Rolled Hard. Not everywhere, just where they rolled the hardest.

Here are some leaves on the 100% Perlite side.

Of course the NLxBB girls look just fine, its the Fruity Chronic Juice that tends to be a bit Finicky about their feed.

Nice Clean Work Trich!! I only have 3 of the NLxBB in this run, but the next will be ALL 18 NLxBB,, cause the Fruity Chronic just does not seem to be a good strain for Sogging. I also want to run a Sativa Strain in the 2 liter sog, and have some Acapulco Gold seeds, but need to complete a Afghan Kush run first :-P

That def you have is an odd one, to me it looks like it could be a magnesium def caused by a ph lockout, which would be odd for you rusty because I know that you could even be labeled as anal in your water management.....

Don't know if you've seen this plant def guide but its the best one I've seen.
http://www.420magazine.com/forums/frequently-asked-questions/81266-cannabis-plant-pest-problem-solver-pictorial.html

I know,, I am a little over the top with my Water.. I too thought the PH Pen might have got me, as it had once or twice in the past,, But the other side of the Fence (100% perlite) is getting the same feed, yet not showing the same issues.

So I am a little stumped,, and also though Magnesium, so I added 2ml per gallon CalMag. Other than that, they are getting 5ml Micro, 10ml Grow and 1ml KoolBloom per Gallon. Basically a low dose Lucas with a low dose of CalMag and the KoolBloom, along with a little over 2ml of PH UP.. This gets me to about 780ppm, which is about 1100ppm on the .7 conv.

I may also consider putting them back on the Every Day watering with the 100% Perlite mix, to see if that helps.

Totally subbed as my hempy clones are being transplanted this weekend. I'll have 21 going. How much water are you plowing through with feedings?

Right on!!! 21 is a Good Number. For my 18, I am running through about 2 gallons, but I mix 3 and save the last gallon for the 100% Perlite mix the following day. This way I only have to mix nutes for the Flowering Girls every other day.

My 2 Mothers are taking 1/2 Gallon each every other day.

Lookin good dale! How tall are they?
I've run 2 liter bottles many times and i like it. I've always used them as filler for all my regular 5 gallon soil and hydro grows.
I have done it with ICE from seed and clones both of which give me 1 1/2 - about 2 oz dry. Have done it with other strains as well.
My current (soon to start next weekend) grow ill be doing 10 plants in 1 gallon water bottles and 3 liter pop bottles. I'm limited on space as ill be growing in a 28" x 31 1/2" X 5 1/2 foot tall grow cabinet.

They are in the 14"-17" range at this point and are just working on filling out as Much as I can get them to.

For my next run, I am considering going to a 2 Plant SCROG. I can build a screen and affix it to my flood table, so I can actually slide the entire table out of the Tent if needed, to get to the back of the Screen. I think this may actually be a better use of my space, but we will see .. I do like the idea of having some 2 liters in the empty spaces just for the fun of it..

Rusty, how tall were they when you kicked them to flower? Here's mine right now before I transplant:

The other 9 are in the tent under a 250 watt hps, while these are under a T5. It's a mix of Jock Horror (Nirvana genetics) and Afghan Kush x Skunk (World of seeds).

Nice Girls!! Very Healthy!! What are you planning on Feeding them?

You can see pics of how big they were when I transplanted and flipped toward the beginning of this journal, then they were pretty small.. I did not veg them out at all, and did not wait for a Long root system, just enough to handle some nutes, and OFF They went.

My last 2 Liter run was put into Solo Cups and the Root system was grown out for a Week or so before Transplanting and Flipping, and I am thinking that may have been the better move.

I let them veg because I was hoping to get them to 10" before flipping (following the 3x rule since they have some sativa traits too).

I have them on GH series Lucas with floralicious. Feeding them 3/4 strength every other day. They are 100% perlite, but I'm going to mx in some vern when I transplant tonight. I dont want to have to water them every day when they start packing on weight.

Well if they are 10" in Veg before the flip, and your expecting 3xs more, that is gonna make some Super tall plants for a 2 liter SOG I think. I suppose it depends on what your doing, but if they get too tall, then you end up having the problem with Light getting down far enough to fill your entire Stem with Cola Growth, and I suppose that depends on the light your using.

Lucas seems to work well in the Hempy's, and I did have to add the CalMag.. Couldn't get by without it unfortunately.

I also have to mention my current run with the Vermiculite mixed in, is not doing as well as the 100% perlite right next to it. The Verm that I water every other day, is showing more deficiencies than the 100% Perlite being watered every day.. They are getting the same mix of feed, just the Perlite gets the left over mix the next day and the Verm Mix does not. Not saying to do it, just saying I am seeing an issue, and this is my first run in Flower with the Mix.. I usually run straight perlite in Flower, and the Mix I use for the Solo Cups.. I even veg in 100% perlite, and now the Summer is gone, I am not having to water every day if I dont want to.. Those summer months were really drying out the buckets.

It allowed me to have a good head stash while everything else could be "liquidated" to all the fine people in and around my area. That and it gave me a nice project that ended up working out for the best.
When im growing regular plants i usually flip them once they hit the 15" tall mark, whether it be hydro or soil. This time im only vegging for 2 weeks to 3 weeks max and then making the switch. Ice can get almost 3 feet tall in a 2 liter bottle, as i have come to find out. :) The picture bellow is from my thread i started "Black Ice"
