The Party in the Woods
I want to tell you about another great party I was lucky enough to attend this weekend. I had heard booth good and bad about Hempstalk a 2 day event held in Portland Oregon. To be more exact its outside of the city a long way and if it wasn't your destination I don't think you could find the place. I will always think of the 2 days as the party in the woods to be honest. The location Kelly Point Park is not much more than a huge ass field in the middle of nowhere surrounded by water and some dirt paths that wander through the woods and open spaces under the trees. The event was poorly organized and we had problems just giving the people running it money for our booths. NO one knew anything about where to park and the long ride in from parking in golf carts down a really dusty road had my expectations low until I emerged into the field and saw that indeed our culture had gathered to celebrate freedom and the plant that brings us all together. It was like a scene out of Woodstock to be honest and I find the event really well named. IT was a scorcher almost 100 degrees and as the sun burned down the clothes came off. I love our culture very much and it always makes me so happy to see hippy families at events like this just enjoying nature and music and cannabis while still acting as doting parents to their children. I did not get many pictures because the TGA booth was so busy and we were short handed but I took time to see it all and I was able to get a few shots. The tunes were jamming and the park is small enough you can hear everywhere in the park almost. Lots of Jam style bands at one time I thought the Grateful Dead might have got back together and came to jam. The best part was in the evenings after the hot sun went down everyone just started chilling and most vendors just relaxed and it turned into a great big mellow party. The event dosn't close until 10 pm and by 8.30 we were basically in the woods in the dark parting under candle light, it was epic. Sunday I actually hired a videotographer to follow me around, Greg from Cannabis Cures UK will be putting that together for me and we will get it posted online. This allowed me to not worry about camera's and such and just meet with the people who wanted my knowledge and smoke everyone that stood in front of me down! I work hard and generally don't medicate or even smoke much when I am working I know this sounds odd but being Subcool is hectic and when someone meets me I want to be at my best not with my eyes shut sitting down. I started breaking that rule in the afternoon on the second day when I saw some medicated chex mix. That as followed by a few cup cakes, some peanut brittle, medicated Marionberry ice cream, and I think a few caramels over a 4 hour period. By dark I was actually laughing at everything and so was everyone around me. You see most of the vendors had become friends while working around each other and everyone started to share as the end of the party came. We hung out breaking down our two booths ( we now have the TGA clothing booth as well) and just enjoying the freedom and the tunes. If my writing style seems a bit off I am still a bit tired and high I am sure but I really wanted to tell my readers. Don't miss this party next year even with the hassle of getting there I won't be ever missing it again see you at Hempstalk 2012.

Thanks for giving us a little peek at this event. I heard they thought CannabisCure UK (Greg) was nark or something? haha Also heard people talking about the super cheap glass up there. Hopefully I can make next year to pick up some good gear. Since I had my back surgery I am now up to a couple of miles of walking so I think I could make it. Yippie!

Hempy%20046.jpgHey Subcool I posted a couple different times in here but since you did a write up on the event, which is way cool of you BTW. I figured I'd post up my pic of you & my family that you said I could post on the net. Remember I asked you? So here ya go? I think it was before you started getting blazed lol :blsmoke: So here is the picture my wife took with her iphone. I just want to say thanks a lot for all the questions you we're bombarded with by me. Really Subcool you are a class act, and a helluva nice guy and I'm glad we had the opportunity to meet and talk breifly with you. My 21 year old son in the Marley shirt is actullay the one that talked me into grabbing a pack of your Querkle sees from Attitude last summer. Funny story I popped all of the seeds that we're found after dropping them on the carpet which were 9 of the 10. Only lost one and I really considered wetting the carpet to get that little bitch to sprout lol. Crazy stoner shit I know LOL. So out of the 9 all germinated and I had to move them to a friends house for a few days when
they we're seedlings because of a secureity issue. Long story  So when I went to get them
back the dumb ass had them out in the blazeing hot sun in their Dixie cups and had not watered
them. 7 of them we're wilted over dead. The two that survived obviously had a reason to live. I
brought them home and got them water and under good HPS light and the freshair they needed.
Long story short one ended up being a dude that got tossed, and the other ended up being the most
Dank fucking plant I've ever grown!  I cloned her over & over and grew her out for over a year
and just recently culled her.
So here some pics of her too along with the Timewreck Clone I was inquireing about. Thanks once again and I'll see you next year! One Love Rob & Family. PS. The JTR kicks ass! I wanted to come back and thank you but we got lost lol. It really was an Epic event!

Dude, this guy was super cool. Some people as they blow up, so does their head! Subcool really is representative of the culture in how he treats people! Hope you enjoyed the chex mix and the Blue Hawaiian! I know I'm gonna enjoy some Agent Orange soon! Also, thanks for the heads up on BHO Wax. Perhaps maybe some public education??? Peace, love and light!

A buddy of mine told me about the event sunday morning, I'm like um, yeah, whatever. He then said that subcool's supposed to be there ,...hooboy, OK, get right ready I'm coming over, we're going!

I've been pining about getting some of your gear for a while now, dogearing your books, drooling over the pictures. Imagining that someday I'll get a chance to grow out some plushberry but specifically looking for a strain that is more socially energizing. My love with dankness puts me in a headspace of being reluctant to socialize - prolly from my east coast paranoia under-the-radar stoner days.

The line to get it though was huge! The parking and resultant epic trek just to get into the event was rival the early chaotic days of burningman. However the golf cart taxi's were a godsend! Although the event could have been better organized, props go to the organizers for accomplishing what they did, the sunday sunset by the beach was just heavenly.

I was actually surprised by the demographic of the crowd and enjoyed myself to the good positive vibes all around. Yet the highlight for me was having a chance to chat a bit with you, get some gear and thank you for your solid soil recipe. I'm a hydro guy but my current soil run is quite enticing maybe even enough to turn me over to the dank side.

After looking at my seeds packs, I think the medibles caught up with you. My Jack Cleaner 2 turned out to become JTR. It's not a biggy but the JC2 hype met the rubber on the road. You said, "ya gotta try this, it'll cut through ANYTHING you consumed earlier, smoke, ate, whatever,.."

It was true, I was pretty blazed coming into the tent but within a minute or two after toking on JC2, a clear cut-through-like-a-knife high descended upon me that was a jaw dropper. That's when I had to bust it for the beach.

It was good meeting you, I'm looking forward to what else is gonna come out of that mad scientist's garden of yours. Props!

btw, can't wait to pop these Jillybeans. I chuckled with your description of it, "...this it'll make you giggly and,... horny!" Even though you had sunglasses, your uplifted eyebrows told the *ahem* untold story.
