bump- anybody, my ph is fine, I dont see any problems but you can see it clearly in the second picture the drooping and the brown spots???? all of the plants look this way but 3 still seem to be trying to grow
i having the same issue. thought i had all my bases covered, ppm,ph, nutes, air flow, temps, light seclusion...blah,blah blah but getting same results you are.
i am trying to reduce watering to promote or force root growth/stretch. (not plant stretch)
also added a bucket of water to the area to evaporate and increase humidity.
tough to say since we are both in same situation and plants are so young.
I am not using any nutes at all just properly ph'd r/o water nothing else I am going to do a res change today clean it really good and see if that helps what setting do you have your AG on?? I am on strawberries
i think I diagnosed my problem I tool the AG apart to clean it and the water was very warm, I think I have root rot starting very early the seedlings roots all have a brown color to them, i removed the AG pump and have just fresh water running through with a touch of h202and some fresh airstones in the res, I am not sure what caused the heat, maybe the pump we will see....
They look dead. Use the salad greens setting until they root, and after that I used herbs (other ppl used tomatoes). Other than that, I'm not sure what the problem is. What's the temp/humidity? Is your water distilled (if not, where is it from)? Also, what are you using in replacement for those sponges and why?
thanks for the reply i think for some reason the water in my res was too warm I am still not 100 % sure of the cause, and the sponges are in there I just covered the top with some gravel, to help keep the light out... i am going to ditch 3 of the seedlings 3 others look like they may bounce back, I have some seeds germing just in case
they were getting 24/7 water i had it set to germ mode which runs the pump and lights 24/7 but i think the water was too warm so it was having a negative effect, I snatched out one of the seedlings I will give them all a chance to bounce back and then weed out the ones that dont look to be making it
Oh okay. Well good luck with your AG. I personally haven't suffered too many set-backs with my grow. They sprouted and took off. The AG has worked pretty well, but I still think i'm going back to soil next time.
I will give it a shot, I am wondering now if maybe oxygen was the problem all along I didnt have any airstones in my AG res until now......... I shouldve known better
airstones are not needed in the aerogarden but probobly doesnt hurt....
The water does fine if you change it 1-2 times every 2 weeks, I usually change it once a week...at least for the first few weeks....as long as the aerogarden pump is working fine it should be good enough...
I feel the aerogarden does much better with an airstone... otherwise the water is pretty stagnent when the pump aint running .. I would use one if not already
