Me and my bro just set up 10 gallon fish tank and planted three seeds with the tails 1/4-2/4 inch, a half inch deep. We have a 100w light bulb hangiing above the tank around 2.5 feet. We keep the plants lighted 6 hours a day and have a small portable heater in there that we keep running during the night wich keeps the closet aprox. 68-70 degrees. We have a spray bottle that we use to spray the plants 2 times a day directly spraying the seeds 2 times and then misting the tank. We've recently have picked up Dr.greenthumb fertilizer ( are there any other minerlas we also need to spray the plants with? or is there a better product).....any suggestions or future seggestions, anything that we'd need to know post, and the seeds are spread out all in different sides of the tank about 5 inches apart. :joint: :roll:

Just a suggestion...Buy Jorge Cervantes book about indoor cultivation. I'm having a hard time picturing your set up. Are you growing in soil in the tank or just in pots in the tank...sounds weird.
New seedlings don't need ANY fertilizer till they have two sets of branches. You'll fry them if you go crazy with applying nutrients now. Plus the potting soil will have enough nutrient for the 1st month along with the food that's already in the seed.
Study basic gardening. IF you can learn what it takes to grow a tomato you'll be totally ready to grow Marijuana.
You want to use 18 hours of light for the veg stage and 12 hours when you start to flower them. You'll want to get T-5 floressent tubes and ditch the incandesent bulb at the very least. Not enough Lumens from a 100 watt bulb.
OK I could go on but you'll get what you need from Jorges or anyone elses grow books. Happy Gardening GrowIT!:weed:

I agree with King get some t-5s or t-8s or CFLs or even a low watt MH bulb then upgrade to HPS on flower. Also Jorges book is an awesome collection of knowledge and ive even found it at many bookstores so its easy to get a copy

nice, yea completely worth it. Does anyone know if u can use fish tank lights for lighting your plants? the lights say they do support coral and underwater plants

If they are fluorescent you can early on but I would want something stronger as they grow say 4-6 4 foot T-5s or t-8s and then a 400-600 watt HPS even later on in flowering

let me get this straight....

you have 3 seeds planted in an aquarium full of soil, 1 100w(equivelent, 23w actual) cfl bulb and its 2.5ft away AND its only on for six hours a day?

seriously my friend, you have some homework to be done. read the faq on this site, its as good or better than that book. if you want, ill grab you some links to some good stuff, but your going to be doing a lot of reading. you shouldnt bother growing unless you have a solid plan about what your doing

i know the lighting shud be for 18 hours now, i've been reading around about growing and trying to gather info. Ill admit i prolly shud have took a longer to look into this but its worth a try, i had seeds laying around and i went for it. Yea please, any links u have that are helpful post anything helps. I'm just a lil lost with the lighitng, i know i need new light and trying to get new one, im looking at a HPS 600w for the tank. I think that hud light the tank well enough.

haha that should be enough to get you started

oh and i dont think an aquarium is ideal, its too big(and heavy i bet) and has no drainage. look into seperate pots or maybe something like this

actually it would be best to start them in small pots or cups, then transplant them into their final pot, a 3-5 gallon pot.
