help!

i have a plant that is still vegging, though I plan to flower very soon. up until about two weeks ago it seemed to be fine but recently lower leaves have started to have yellow and brown spots. this has begun to work its way up the plant. i was wondering if this was a nutrient deficiency or nutrient burn? by the way, i have also noticed that some stems have turned a little reddish purple.

i've seen websites showing issues like this and their cause, but I havent been able to figure out what's wrong with mine. any help is greatly appreciated!

P.S. sorry the images are blurry

How do you check the PH of your water?

This is what my first grow looked like until I got a PH tester. Nute Burn/PH problem is what you got. If your PH is not between 6-7, your plant can't use the nutes you feed or are naturally in soil.

Those leaves are brittle too aren't they? They are brittle even though they are green. Your leaves should be as soft.

That's my guess.

and i see in the first pic that a leaf in the background has dark brownish splotches. looks like moisture stress to me. you could b over watering, and ur soil is realeasing to much nutes burning the plant.

that's what I was leaning towards actually. just for the record, the plant is in soil. and nutrient-wise, right now its mostly just getting the nutrients from the miracle gro organic soil i was dumb enough to get :wall:. anyone have any ideas on the best way to handle this? once again, thanks so much for your help!
