Anyone in NY flowering? If so, what week are you currently in? I have 3 plants and only one has showed female. Frost will probably be here in a few months which doesn't give me much time to get these fully developed. I tried moving them to a very shady area so they will be forced to flower but still nothing and they have been there for a few weeks. Does anyone know what I can doo to force these to start flowering?!?!?! I thought I heard or putting a black trash bag over them for a few days straight and that should do the trick? Am I wrong?

hey there... i live in southern ontario... the weather is relatively the same for us... here a list of approx. frost dates...
Albany May 7 Sep 29 144 days
New York Apr 1 Nov 11 233 days
Rochester May 3 Oct 15 164 days
Syracuse Apr 28 Oct 16 171 days

u cant force them to flower but they should be starting soon... hopefully by now they would be... the days are gettin to be about 14light/10dark so flowering should kick in.. my sativa dom just showed sex a week ago... i dunno if it will finsh in time but thats the fun with growin outdoors... i've never heard of a trash bag on them for a few days... i can only see that causing problems... i think u have to let nature take its course
best of luck

well my friend...it sound to me like many of us patience is a virtue in outdoor growing...lol..really it is...im in new england and my plants been budding for about a week so im in the same boat...the solstice is sept 23....which means that 12 /12 will start...now today we lost 3 min of daylight we are now at 13 hours and 20 min daylight .....so...a couple of things u can do.. and i have a couple of qustions for u....first ? ...how big are they...2nd.....are u feeding them....now....if they are not that big like mine 7'(true story :p) you can cover them with something..like a trash can , all uhave to do is block out the light for 12 hours but u have to make sure that u do it exactly the same time every day....cover them like at 6 or 7 pm.. and uncover that time in the A.M....I have done this with good success...but you have to make sure it gets NO light and the same time every day until the solstice takes over then it will do it on its own...(it will do it on its own anyway if u let it go ..but im telling you some cheattips..lol)...also the nutrients are a HUGE factor...you must feed them at flowering/blooming somethin called BIG BLOOM or anything with lots of (P) now when u look at ferts they will have numbers on it 10/10/10 15/20/15 etc...what you want is for the middle number to be as BIG as u can get it at this stage in the game... I am feeding min 10/30/10 right now on a 10 day cycle......so my friend try that answer my questions and we will go from there...good luck ..smoke on ..peace

I just purchased some Bloom Buster 10-30-10 and I hope that will start the process. I think I will just keep them in the shady area and start to feed them the blooming nutes. Thanks for everything!
