if you lst corectly you will have more than 3 colas how many nodes does the plant have, each node has 2 side branches that will grow streight up so if you got 7 nodes you will get like 14 top colas,generally... the idea is to keep the tops even so they are all as close to the light as possible

if you do a scrog you dn't need to top basically the same as lst but you tye the plant to the screen and keep workin all the branches around til you got 1 in each part of the screen when you train a plant thers no reason to top, toping will just slow down veg time. grow up to the screen tye plant to screen let it grow pull it back and tyr it again let it grow and repeat no need to top each node will shoot up ther stems with no problem your actually loosing tops by toping but if its workin for ya than great but its not necissary

every time you top thats 1 cola your not gonna have

Hmm, I would say that topping them once or twice will decrease veg time by a good bit in a scrog mate, due to more lateral branching that can be trained once they reach the screen. But whatever works, right :)

i'll take that i guess if you got 2 main branches you can fill the screen quicker, touche

im not sure penetration is such a problem outdoors like it is with hid's so you may not gain that much by doing it, im not sure you would have to ask sumone in the outdoos section of the forum or wait maybe sumone will come along and answer better than i can, if i grow outdoors its kinda just a plant it and let it go sorta thing and check on it in the fall
