No. You need to screw up your lighting for a few days at least before it begins to affect the plants. A half hour won't do anything even if it was every day now to the end.

Is this your first child? You feel like a nervous parent. After 3 or 4 you don't even start a baby book any more. ;)

Remember, this is supposed to be fun so chillax and let it grow. chillpill.gif

Good luck!

Oh thank you! I can breathe a little better. I heard even a speck of light during flower will screw them up. So that is not true?? This is like the 4th time the lights got messed tho. Not for long periods but short 20 min half hour. I'm afraid they will seed or something.

thats talking about a pin hole i8n a tent, the light that can shine through, can mess up your flowering. if genetics arnt gopod, but even the best genetics can be affected too. but as oldmeduser says, your all good

So is there a specific amt of time that will mess up your plant if u leave the light on too long? Or can just a flick of a light during darkness mess it up?

no. it realy needs to be a prolonged period of time and multiple times.
most people mess with the light hours untill the plant show's signs of hermaphrodism.
i have no idea how long it would take to turn a plant hermi, genetics have a lot to do with it, bad genetics will lead to more hermi's in the grow room, others with top notch genetics may take much punishment to get them to turn.
then there are other top genetics that have a penchant to turn hermi, GG4 GORILLA GLUE 4 started life as a hermaphrodite plant, it was then manipulated into the wonderfull plant it is today, it may still have a tendancy to herm quite easily, i don't realy know.
others may be able to help you with info,
you could use the search engine and look in the breeding forum, theres bound to be info on how to do it, i don't think i've ever read anything about exactly just how long it would take, as i said, most breeders wanting to herm a plant, will mess with the lights and mess with it's enviroment untill it shows sign's of hermaphrodism.
sorry i cant be of more help.
just get a timer, its well worth the money for peace of mind

Think how bright the full moon can be for a few days every month and that doesn't bother flowering plants outdoors. Pinhole leaks in tents don't let in enough light to hurt and even turning on a light bulb for a few minutes while you grab something you really need in there won't do anything.

Some people ask if changing the time they do get light because they have a new work schedule or have had a power outage needs to have a longer dark period before changing the light hours is no problem. Just change the timer for what you want and it's all OK.

Something like switching your timer to always on so you can finish something then forgetting to switch it back for days could make the plant begin to go back to veg mode. Then when you go back to 12/12 it has to switch back to flower mode and can confuse the plant's internal workings but even that will most times just slow down the flowering process and you might get some funky looking leaves try to grow out. Like single bladed leaves which you look for if you've flowered a plant, cropped it and are attempting to force it back to veg mode so you can re-run the plant. I've done that 3 or more times with a plant and it's never gone hermi unless it already leans that way genetically.

I like to breed plants to make seeds and various crosses so will deliberately stress the plants in all sorts of ways thru veg and early flower so if any go hermi I don't keep any seeds from those plants. I've used seeds from a hermie plant that were a strain I liked then grown out a bunch and used the best to make seeds with then only keep and grow seeds from the girls that went thru to the finish with not signs of hermi. The seeds from those grow fine with no further hermies.

Most of the times when a plant hermies it was nothing the grower did wrong but just genetics. Cannabis plants will naturally hermie as it's built in to their genes to make sure if no males are around and it's getting late in flowering they pop out balls in an attempt to knock themselves up. If that works the seeds it makes on itself will all be females when grown. That's how fem seeds were first made but now we spray cehmicals on them to force male flowers on a female plant. Colloidal silver is popular but STS, (Silver ThioSulphate), is what I use and easier as you only use a few sprays to make the switch.

You can get lots of free e-books at PDFdrive.com. Just do a search for cannabis/marijuana/pot and download all you want. Every other subject under the sun is available there too.
