So i have a few soil grows under my belt and will soon be starting my first coco grow in smart pots with the blumat drip system and the full line of canna nutes... i have pretty much figured everything out that i need to do through this grow but there is one thing that still boggles me....
what is the best method for starting seeds in coco?
usually i would take the seeds and drop them in a black shot glass and cover them for 24 hours.... after that i would take all of the ones that sank to the bottom and either just directly plant them in soil (worked every single time) or do the wet paper towel method in a ziplock bag and place in a warm area until germinated and then i would plant directly into the soil rather than the jiffy pellets...
at the moment i have both jiffy pellets and coir pellets... i figured after doing the paper towel method i would just stick them into the coir pellets and put in by dome until i see the little sprouts come through or the roots, whichever comes first.
does anybody have any other methods that are better?
also does it matter if i start the seeds in the jiffy pellets and then plant that directly into the coco or should i not mix mediums like that?
i'm basically looking for the one method that produces the best results with a good success rate because i will only be doing 5 seeds which are barney's farm red cherry berry.
thanks in advance guys!
