Help with stablizing my pH with well water

I am currently using distilled water because my well water will not stay stable for even a damn day. I ph it down to about 6.2 next day it's 8. I know an unstable pH is terrible for a plant along with the high pH. It's well water no filter or anything, would buying a simple cheap filter system, similar to a brita system, remove these buffers that keep runing my pH? I am wondering because i don't want to spend the money on a useless system. I actually have a system thats already installed but i would need to purchase a filter, i just don't know if that will fix anything.

Check my journal out, i am currently growing Aero with distilled water, but i want to avoid purchasing gallon after gallon of distilled water from the store and be able to just hook a hose up to my water supply and fill her up.

Your pH problem could be the leftovers from the nutrients that were absorbed the day before. That's going to change your pH a lot and that's why we have to check it every day and readjust it if necessary. Also, Aerogarden is recommending that you do not use well water because of the mineral content that throws off the pH as well. I don't know if a reverse osmosis system would do the trick but with our little reservoir you can't skimp on water quality without expecting problems. I tried tap water like A/G recommended and it plugged up my water distribution manifold. Now I use distilled. A friend of mine goes to a market and buys his water there where they have the machine out front that supposedly runs tap water through a reverse osmosis filtration system and he swears by it.

Doesn't walmart have those machines to that your referring to? And i can see what your saying with the whole clogging ordeal, it's just a pain to always have to purchase 12gallons + distilled water but i guess i got take care of my ladies the right way. If your correct about that filtered water from the market, can you fill bigger jugs with those besides 1 gal jugs?

I don't recall having seen them at Wal-Mart but every supermarket in my town has one out front. They claim to deliver pure water and my friend swears by them. I usually buy my distilled water from Wal-Mart and next best is Niagra bottled water from the ninety-nine cents store. I buy it by the case but it's still no deal. You have a sizable investment over time and it's a pain to have to go to the store and buy it and store it until you're ready to use it. That's why I'm going to buy a reverse osmosis system with an additional carbon filter. My local hydroponics store can order it for me and it's around two to three hundred dollars depending on the brand and model. The good thing is that using an Aerogarden the filter elements should last a long time.

I know my Walmart has some machine but I think its spring water, I might have to look into a reverse osmosis system myself. It would be well worth the investment maybe after next harvest.
