Help with new fans in grow light

Hey guys!

My gf and I just recently put together our first grow tent. Everything has been going pretty well but the whine on the fans in the grow light is getting worse. I can't really be without the light, so I decided to take it apart during "night time."

I have this light: Phlizon 1000w COB (can't link sorry)

So here's my problem/question...I took it apart the other night to replace the fans and unfortunately the wires don't really have a disconnect anywhere. I can't get this thing apart, since there's no real slack in the wires. I want to replace the fans with something like noctua (something with high CFM and low noise).

In order to do that, I will need to cut the wires on one side to get into the light. Anyone have experience with reconnecting the wires? I could just solder and heatshrink but i was wondering if maybe a quick disconnect or something was possible. I do not have any experience with this type of stuff, and was hoping someone had suggestions.

Please and thank you!

You shouldn't have to cut the wires to get into the light, everything that is put together can be taken apart.
But I know how these things look inside and there is little play.
Try looking for connector blocks or terminal blocks or wago's or molex connectors.

Noctua makes nice fans, mine have been trouble free for a few years vs constant trouble with cheapo 12v fans. I also agree that there should be a connector they usually just zip tie the wires into tight bundles. If you do have to cut I vouch for wagos because they are easy and reusable.

So you replaced fans in your grow light also? I searched all over and didn't see many threads on this topic. I thought i was just being anal about the fan noise. I really want to get it quieted down a lot.

Yep, although I have mostly moved on to passively cooled lights, the active cooled with noctua is really quiet.

I really want to move to the ES300 for that very reason. I'd rather have an extra 10" fan or something as opposed to multiple fans whining in a light.

Operation Noctua starts tonight while they "sleep!"
