If I can make a suggestion, you may want to do a lot more reading and research about growing before you start. How old are you anyways? If you're living with your parents, you shouldn't grow at home!!

Don't use tin foil, its one of the worst things you can use. You'd be better off painting the inside of your cab white.

You cab dimensions should be ok for a plant or two.

You definitely need an exhaust fan. Air circulation is VERY IMPORTANT. There's also a damn good chance you're going to need a filter as well. Even one plant will stink up a room pretty good, especially during flowering.

As far as lights, look for cfl bulbs in the 6500k range for veg, and 2700k for flower. Get the highest wattage you can find. And MAKE SURE the bulbs you get have the 6500 and 2700 on them. Don't guess!! You can use these bulbs any million and one ways, do it however you want and whats easiest for you. Just keep them as close to the plant as possible without burning it.

Keep reading this website, all the info you need is already here.

thanks man..yes i live with my parents : /
I am 19 years old to answer your question.. i was going to grow in my attic but building all these things such as an exhaust fan would be too sketchy ( for parents) hense why i asked about it.. But one of my buddies has an emtpy room in his house and his mom loves pot..,so we are going to start a little project up there.,thanks

To get a really good yield you'll need a bigger space, the best fluorescent to work with are something in the 5,700 K range daylight lights I'd get the 23 watt's since this is just for incubating and some vegging. Get 45 watt soft white flourescents in the 2,700 k range for flowering at least 3 bulbs for flowering, at least 2 to veg. the most lumens on a florescent I saw at Lowe's yesterday were 2,600 for the soft white each plant wants at least 3,000 lumens.

Sorry it is 6,500 k for veg growth like the person that posted two times ago said. I don't think lights will even be 5,700 k.

They should sell lamps at stores for under 10$ that can house up to 75 watts, these are meant mainly as outdoor lighting for workers and other crap but they come with an aluminum reflector already on them and a clip.

I dont like lowes orhome depot. htgsupply.com has 400w of hps power for like a $120.

CFL's are great, and I would use them if I smoked .01 grams per day. But I dont.

If you, your friend, and his mom can come up with a hundred bucks each, you could get a decent grow.
If not, growing herb is not impossible, just not worth the time and effort, imo.
Good luck

For some people HPS just isn't an option though. CFL's will work just fine but always keep them almost touching the top cola, and maybe flood the body by putting a couple on each side. I was going to go HPS but I did research and learned HPS is really more of a fad in growing although better than CFL sometimes you can get enough CFL's to where it gets the same effect training a plant with daylight CFL's for vegging and switching to soft white for budding can help up your yield even though you didn't use HPS. HPS would produce way too much heat for the set up the poster originally talked about.

I don't think you can have too much for CFL, although maybe bleaching the leaf cause of too much light, I don't know though. I'm just running on double of what you are. I used to only use one bulb now I use four lamps I found some at Lowe's for 5$.

to get a good yield your gonna need a lot of fluorescent lighting. I had 16 cfl's in my 2ft wide by 15 inch deep space.

10x100watt equivilants/23 watts 2700k 1700 lumens 6x75 watt equivilants/15 watts 2700k 1400 lumens for flowering

you don't need as much for your vegging, I vegged 3 plants under 6 cfl's 100watt equivilants/26watts 6500k 1750 lumens.

my grow is in my signature, but I just got a 1000watt MH so i'm setting up my 4x4 area with that and the 10 23 watt cfl's(2700k)

CFL lights and High Intensity Display (HID) are the two main lighting that growers use, CFL come in 3 flavors to you plant Soft white, which budding stage likes, daylight which veg likes and another one but it isn't that usefull to you plant. HID come in three varaities High pressure sodium, which uses the best light to a plant. Really if you're going to spend money on a system for HID I don't see a point in looking at the other two types anyways.

as close to the top as possible, if you can sit there with your hand almost touching the bulb and feel no pain thats the best.
