Help with lighting

HELLO!! i just wanted to ask if 400w is enough to cover a 1.2 metre x 1.2 metre grow area???? Or will i need more lighting to flower??? I have been told that i need 3 x 600w lights, that seems like an awful lot of light for a small area like 1.2 square metre, i was thinking about a maximum of 1 x 400w HPS and 1 x 600w HPS? WILL THAT BE ENOUGH DO YOU THINK, OR MAYBE I CAN GET AWAY WITH JUST USING 1 X 400W HPS? please let me know any advice or help is very much appreciated

should be enough.. if you have the option, go with 1 600watt, obv 200 more watts, and i hear the 600s are the most efficient.
