help with leaking system plant problem..

My medusa system similar to iws

Did a heavy water its not draining so guess i need to level them a bit do that tomorow...

But my god all the rubber washers on the 25mm elboews are leaking. Double rubbered and screwed tights i goy 3 litres on the floor how the hell..

How can i fix it solid stop the leak.

Il strip it out tomoroe but can i silicone the shit outa it between washers???

Just a thought...could you use those screw clamps on the lines?
Gorilla Glue in the threads...won't ever come apart...lol

I agree...even a small amount of silicone on the threads should work...might even be able to undo it if needed later in time...might...lol
As funny as it sounds, I've even used clear nail polish...hardens and seals well.

Needs to last 1 grow lol til i move so...freakin expoxy gorila glue seems good.
Or pond sealant silicone.

I dont ever want it to cone off.


Man i got 19mm pipe on ny 25mm fitting before i realised lol took me 7 hrs and whole hand bliater to cut it back off

Haha its got 25 on now lol but the rubbers leak even traveled 72 miles to get me ad everywhere was outa stock

One of those PEX clamp ring things might work well too.

They are used for water lines in the walls and floors...should be ok in this situation too.

Double rubbered and screwed tight.

Usually with washers and gromit rings etc over tightening is counter intuitive and of over tightened the rubber gromits can over tighten and actually cause parts that have leaks.

just a thought that it could over tightening that’s caused your issue.

just trying another avenue.

Spot on though. I cudnt get finger in the holes so i used my wrench till it was what i thaught is hand tight but id say its more than..

Why doea over tighteb make rubber leak. Id thaught it wud make it better . Tightening on a rubber co pressing ud think eventualy it will fill all gaps

I thibk it could be the thread too.

The main reason over tightening with rubber is counter intuitive is that the rubber actually flattens more and causes the ring to actually get bigger, making the hole of the gromit bigger which means the seal gets bigger and doesn’t actually seal.

another alternative for a quick fix is aquarium silicon.

you can get bathroom silicon that is black and very water tight once applied.

I got gorilla glue at the shops today ya think that will still do it? Says waterpeoof and heat proof

Only down fall I'd say is it takes about 24 hours to completely dry...usually ok after about 8-12 though...I used it to hold 3W LEDs to a metal panel, but in your case I might be tempted to wait the 24 hours or close to it...put some on a piece of paper or something, after you glued all the parts back together, and when its dry the parts you glued should be too.

Dont use gorilla glue. It doesnt stick well to pol plastic and it reacts bad with rubber as it has oil in it.

Ordered aquamate aquarium and pond sealer
Says seals faster if wet lol.
