Look in my albums in my profile, there are many pics of wiring one of those. It's really very easy. I have never grounded my hoods, but if you are able to, I'd recommend it.

lol no offense but u couldn't pay me to run that thing in my house, properly wired or not. Ya know when you hear about growers houses burning down? Those are typically due to ballast failure, is it worth it saving 150 bucks by using free crap and then losing ur house or life. Idk man, not tryin to rag but damn. My life is worth more then that. 2c.

More concerned with the quality of the parts than the wiring. Who knows what kinda condition that transformer, the ignitor, or any of the wires are in. And when your talking the lamp cord has to take 5kv pulse and then pour out 1kw of power. Just not worth the risk. Buy good shit and sleep at night knowing you did your best to protect yourself.

Then why 3 wires? Caps have 2. Im not saying your wrong (although im pretty sure my 1000s have both a cap and ignitor) but every cap i have ever worked with has been 2 wires.
