Help with cloning!

Hey guys first time grower here.
Just found out I had 3 males and only 2 females...
I need to set up another space to grow some clones. I have watched a bunch of tutorials on the cloning itself and I got that down. The only thing I dont know anything about is the dome and watering.
How do I water them? I know to spray them to keep the humid green house effect but I saw a video of a clone tray and the bottom was filled with water?
Im sure its simple but Im abit confused on how the watering clones process works.
Any help is huuuugely appreciated.

thanks!

Hey man. Ive had some problems with cloning, then on my current grow I made a bubble cloner and currently eleven out of twelve clones have beautiful roots. I LOVE IT. google bubble cloner, there are many DIY guides. Have a nice weekend.

Yeah, an aero or bubble cloner is the way to go, and no dome or spraying needed. I have had 99.999% ssuccess for years with them and with many, many strains.

for the dome, pre-soak the pellets for like a day in water with a little tiny bit of FF big bloom in it.....make ur cuts, dip in clonex, cut the tips of the fan leaves to concentrate root development, mist the leaves with a spray bottle about twice a day, in about 7-10 days pick uo the pellet and u will see the white roots shooting out....its that easy good luck bro

Awesome! No water in the bottom of the dome?
Will use a bubbler for my next round when I have extra time and such.

no put some water in the bottom of the dome, pref with a heat mat that shud have come with it.....and you will be fine, u might get a couple that wont take, but its ok just make a couple more cuttings

Take your clones mist the inside of dome mist your entire plant close dome don't open for 5 days .water when plugs get to dry do not let the Rockwell sit in water.

People way over think cloning, including myself. I have diy bubble cloners and they do work great, but now i seriously just take a cut, dip in cloning gel, put it into a cup of water with a couple drops of super thrive, throw em under a light and 7-10 days later I have roots. I have nearly 100% success doing this way. Very simple.

I started doing it this way because: a few grows ago, I was topping my girls. I have a bucket of "garbage" water near my grow. It is where I dump run off, and old nutes and any grow garbage i may have. After topping them, i just picked up my scraps and threw em in the bucket. About a week past, I went to dump the bucket behind my garage, and laying there on the ground after emptying it, was fully rooted tops laying there. Brought em in, threw em in soil and grew em out. ( great smoke i must say!)

thats all u need to do, i didnt want to say anything before, but u dont need a bubbler, ur just making everything wayyy more complicated....i have just as much success with my dome and heat mat that these dudes have with there DIY bubblers and i prob do 80% less of work........its like i once said in this topic before, i could cut my lawn with scissors, but when a mower achieves the same thing, why take the extra time

Keep water in your tray, but low enough it only fills the lower section. If its so high its in direct contact with your medium it can sponge up too much water.

An alternative that I find a little easier is soak your medium in ph'd water of 5.5. Dip you clone in gel or powder and place in your rockwool cube or pellet. Put inside a puffed up gallon zip lock and mist lightly. Doing this you only worry about replacing Co2 by opening the bag, puffing it back up and 're sealing. The moisture inside should last a while. 're water medium once it starts to feel light and lightly re-mist. Open your bag up every 24-48 hours.

I use an air pump to puff km y bags up, then use my breath to fill it completely. Gives you a good amount of O2 for your roots that way. (When my aero cloned isnt being used, its really the way to go when you have the budget)

"benbud89 ain't kidding...loads about these." Im glad to have helped you out. I had a blast building mine, despite having trouble finding all the things needed and doing it without power tools. Im really glad I did this. I dont even expect to change the airstones as no nutes are going down there making everything sticky. About the coffe cup method, Im sure itll work out fine for you too. As a matter of fact, I had already a clone in a coffe cup with aluminium foil to repel light, it must have been just about to grow roots, because it started growing crazy long roots already on day two or three in the cloner. Basically, it's the same method, just more neet, organized and bubbly :) furthermore, it is easier to keep a steady temperature as you ll only have one big container. A constant temp between 20-25C is mentioned as very important on most cloning threads.
