You're on the right track with allowing them to harden off (adjust) . . . takes about 7-10 days. Careful w/direct sunlight . . . a little more each day until it's not an issue. You can leave them out at night if it's not too cold.

I dont know where the idea of clones being fragile like small babbies started from but from my experiences its 100% false.

All ive ever done is to allow the clone to form a decent root mass, plop it in its location & water with some nitrogen rich ferts, thats it,no adjusting times,no bringing them outside a little more everyday, no nothing.

I put out a batch of clones & seedlings this season using this method, low temps at night too,im in Michigan where it still gets cold at night, regular soil that nature provides with light amendments,no special (expensive) soil,no kid gloves just nature ,& they are doing as swell as can be.

Pretty much basing my advice on 40 years of sound general gardening practices. Good to know it doesn't seem to make much/any difference.
I'm guessing your outcome might be different in mid-summer? If not, cool! My impression does come from starting veggies indoors from seed, so perhaps that's the difference?
I feel pretty vulnerable moving these kind of plants (erb) around my suburban back yard. It's about the only risky part of my grow, other than the obvious.:blsmoke:

As for the B1, I'm not familar w/that technique.

Where did mid summer come from ?

Mid summer is not the time to plant any type plant where seedlings or clones are involved, late spring & early summer is the standard start of the growing season for most plants including mj.

If it works for you thats great & im not trying to take anything away from you, where i live is one of the lousiest & most unpredictable climates in the USA & ive never done anything special, this year the babbies were put into my saddle bags on my motorcycle, driven 30 miles away & planted straight into beds that were prepared a month ago, rabbits & other varmints are a much greater danger where i live.

On a side note have you ever tried a product called ( DEER OFF) sold at home depot ?,as the name implies its a deer repelent,i tasted a bit on my finger before buying it & it tasted like shit,im tryin it this season for the first time, your supposed to spray it directly on the plants then repeat once a month,at $8 a bottle im giving it a shot.

The mid-summer note was for the noobs to ponder. A subtle warning?

As for deer off . . . isn't that predator urine? Are you sure it tasted like sh*t?
I thought it tasted like piss! Just dinkin' around. Good info, panhead.

i got money and business into this--i cant take that chance
Hmmm, then why ask for opinions, there is nothing wrong with being extra carefull, especially where expenses are involved but it sounds like you had the answer to your own question before you asked,be as carefull as you feel is required but in most cases it wont help anything,if your growing skills are solid then you will succeed.

Unless your vegging with shop lights of cfl's sunlight & hid's are very close & will not harm the clones from too much light.
