Feminized seeds are great for the grower that just wants to grow 2 or 3 plants and does not want to have to worry about males. 99.9% of the time the high end brand name feminized seeds turn out female and if they do not it is because you stressed them. The lower end seeds though do have a high rate of herming.
As far as strains go with a name brand like Sensi Seeds, Barney's Farm, Green House Seeds, DNA Genetics. Basically pick a company that has been around for a while and has one a Cannabis Cup. Yes CC's are bullshit but it means the company is big enough to actually do some research and development and aren't just reselling F2's of someone else's seeds.
For actual weed strains I'd go with a Kush for the stoney high and a Haze for the head high. Like a Purple Kush would be sweet and Barney's G13/Haze would be good. Just be careful with Barney's seeds as they are hit and miss for me. I only have a 90% germ rate with Barney's seeds but others have 100% germ rate so it could be I got some bad seeds.
