Help with CFLs

so if heat is an issue, where you growing? a small circulateing fan will disapate most heat from a small cfl grow like yours, with ambient air flow aswell...

yah it will strech as mikmike said, when growing with lights, the light is close so it grows small and stocky, which is what you want, tight nodes....
 
when it is skinny and the plant is looking for light. u should have nodes like every 1.9 cm and that is max imo
 
you want atleast around 200 watts, i would say 250 is great and not equivalent watts but its actual watts

you can work up to it, tho, they will start out under what you have if the bulbs you have are the correct spectrum, if you look at the top of it, it will be written there,

eg: 11w 5000k...
 
yes and no....

is the face of the light diffused? or is it clear....

then you have electrical useage, a cfl won`t send the meter spinning like the regular bulbs will...
 
keep it right on top of the plant, thats if it doesnt get to hot, best to run it for a few hours and then tip it with the back of your hand to see if its hot or not, with cfl`s they can virtually touch the tips of the plants..
