and for the record. Most people with half a brain realize that your not going to get a field of shit out of an AG. This again is a no brainer. BUT for the people like myself that make plenty of money not selling cronic having an aero to supply you with free smoke is perfect. Yes the light is not very powerful....nothing a bigger light and a mirror cant fix. everyone needs to relax and light 1 up.:peace::joint:

Hear, hear! :hump: :hump:  It is perfect for us, as well, because we can afford to buy what we need, but this is a fun toy that also happens to provide the bonus of free smoke.

From what I have seen, it works much better on weed than it does on the tomatoes they sell. My local hydro shop only got 7 cherry tomatoes from it. Of course, they didn't add any light or anything. No matter what I would be growing indoors, and no matter the system, I am a firm believer in adding more lights.

but its still much cheaper to build a better unit yourself...

i still don't know why someone'd buy one of these...

They are about $150. Mine was a gift, so I paid nothing.

Also, some people don't like to build or mod stuff. That is why my folks and my in laws like their Macs and their iPods. No hacking, customizing, modding or otherwise having to deal with technology. Kinda like the Aerogarden. Maybe if someone else sold a self contained, easy to set up and use indoor gardening space saving unit, it would be better. I don't think the inventors of this are really gardeners.

Personally, I see some of the set ups you guys make and then I see you offering plans. I think some of our more talented members here could make a decent all-purpose prototype that is much better than the AG and then make bank mass producing it, and not just for weed, but herbs, tomatoes, flowers, lettuces, etc. I would probably buy one.

This is called DWC which stands for deep water container.
Start with a 10 gl rubbermaid from walmart.

You should be able to find most of this stuff at walmart.

This is called hydroton on ebay if you don't have a hydro store.

This pump is from walmart and you just drop it in the bottom of the tub and plug it in.

Add an aquarium air pump with some airstones bubble makers, from walmart, sorry no pic.

This meter can be bought on ebay for about $30-40

Anything in this post can be had on ebay or walmart
