Help, will they survive?

This is my 4th grow in the last year and this is the first time i've had such issues with my plants.

Both plants started from seed, about 6 weeks ago.

Temp between 70-79F, humidity between 42-48rh

Soil - Fox Farm Happy Frog

Watering - no fertilizer yet, added call mag once but other than that just water.

Light is 476 true watt quantum LED fixture (close to about 900w HPS). Light is about 40inch from plants

Transplanted about 2 weeks ago and they've been dying since, not sure why.




Any ideas?

Is it even too late and I should start over?

It's about every 3 days as I didn't add any extra perlite or anything, just pure soil. Wonder if that's causing the issue.

It's odd it did it to just these ones though cause I've always used this soil. Maybe I got a bad bag.

Just worried about starting 2 more plants and having the same issues. I could get some seedling soil to cut with fox farm soil I guess, just very odd my other 3 grows with same soil didn't show these signs.

It's nowhere close to a 1000 watt HPS. Toss that LED marketing crap in the trash.

How much CalMag did you use? You can still fry your plants with CalMag since it's typically calcium nitrate and magnesium sulphate mixed together and diluted with water. Are you telling the true story? What else did you do? Did you spray anything on the plants? How close is that light that's supposed to be equivalent to 900 watts of HPS?

Really? The light seems pretty powerful. I used to use a 400 HPS and I get almost double what I used to get (I average 4oz per plant, used to get around 2.5oz per plant).

Since I've transplanted my water schedule was, pure water 3 days later 1 table spoon calmag with water then another 3 days just water, and continued with just water. One thing I did notice was I use an 18litre refillable jug that you refill at the store, but inside the jug is a bit of a weird smell. I wonder if the water is tainted or something, I don't wash the jug but i give it a quick rinse (with just water) each time I refill.

I also added promix mycorrhizae to the soil when I transplanted (just around the roots, not mixed in with all soil), could that have burned them? I didn't spray anything, never do.

The light it supposed to be 36" away the site says on average.

I read my post again and I think I came off sounding like a jerk. That wasn't my intention. My apologies for that.

I don't know what's causing your issue based on the scenario you described. If it was a tomato plant I'd be thinking fusarium wilt but that's just speculation. Whatever it is it doesn't look good. I'd toss those in the trash, sterilize the tent, and start over. And get rid of the soil and if you reuse the pots I'd wash them with a bleach solution as I would do with the tent.


That's going off the information you've provided.

Could be russet or broad mites.

No worries man! Ya I'm thinking your right. Hate throwing out soil but better to be safe than waste 2 plants again.

Mycorrhizae are beneficial fungal spores, they can't burn your plant.

I do have a standard gnats flying around but only a hand full and haven't really noticed anything on leaves but i'll get a microscope and check. Or is it possible they're only in the soil?

The potting soil I use, Black Gold 0.05-0.0-0.0 seems to come with little flying bugs, gets so bad I use fly ribbon which appears to work at catching a lot. Are you using new soil or recycling old stuff, if reusing maybe theres still alot of nutes retained in it.

I use promix herb & veggie. Has the mycorrhizae mixed in, don't need to feed for a month to 6 weeks, and I've never had gnats in my indoor grows.

They are to small to see with a hand held 60x scope.
The damage they cause looks similar to yours.
Two signs are leaves curling up on the edges and a shine in the green area of the leaf similar to the big leaf in the second picture.
Google broad mites cannabis and russet mite cannabis and look at the images of the leaves.
Quite similar but I can't be sure.
If it is they are horrible and will require a serious cleaning of your grow area before restarting.
