My plant has been in flowering for around 8 weeks now and buds have gotten quite fat was just wondering how long it will take for the white pistils to turn dark and curly, as I am not to sure when to start a flush for harvest
Help when are buds ready to harvest

Ready to harvest in 2-4 weeks. Flushing is for toilets.

Yes all or at least almost all of them will turn orange and recede. No i grow in organic soil no need. Buds always taste amazing.

I think most of the people on here that know what they are doing / have some some basic understanding of science don’t flush their plants. Do you think that you are going to wash away excess NPK out of the buds themselves? Really think about it

I was like that at one point too. There’s so much information on this sight, some good and some not so good. I mean the other day I saw a post where some dude was planning on growing weed with the led strips that I have on the back of my TV... was gonna run it off AA batteries and apparently had “all the math figured out.” My point is if you spend enough time on here you’ll start to notice the people who know a bunch and like to help.

One of my mates is saying to me it will taste burnt or something if I don’t flush but he doesn’t exactly know what he’s on about is this true?
He doesn't know what he's talking about. I've never heard about anything you can do while growing cannabis to make it taste "burnt".

No, that's not true. Although technically if your smoking flower at least it all tastes burnt, it's just burnt cannabis should taste good haha.
But assuming he meant unflushed weed will taste bad, that's a myth.
I don't flush, and after growing indoors for eight years, I've never had anyone complain about the taste or smell of my products. To the contrary, I get the opposite feedback. Mind you, I put focus on doing as best a dry and cure as I possibly can.

3 golden rules for tasty weed.
1. Don’t over feed (that’s what makes harsh smoke)
2. Dry it properly. Not too fast - aim for about 17-18c and 50-60 percent humidity. Should take 6-10 days to dry.
3. Cure! This is the magical bit. Get this right and your weed just gets better. It blows my mind how complex the flavours become after about 3-4weeka jarred at 55-62% humidity.
