I had to work out of state for a week and left the garden in my partners care. Right before putting the girls out this spring I had the chance to grab a a dozen plants to go along with the 30 clones I was putting out in the last of three gardens. I didn't sex them first as I'd just lost my indoor space, but I've done it before and due to frequency of checking them I've never worried. The few males I've encountered I caught as soon as I saw balls and have never has so much as a single seed. Not this time.
Over the 7 day period the asshole didn't check them since it had rained a few times. I went in yesterday and two of them were covered in balls but after carefully inspecting each one I would say that just a tiny percentage of pollen sacks had opened... like 2-3 %, maybe. Literally had to look hard to find the ones that had.
Now, amongst the 30 clones, half are Skunk auto's and almost done... maybe 2 weeks left, tops. The other half are Mazar and won't finish until end of Sept. to early October and are basically just covered in tiny buds... looks like dozens of buttons all over each one, to give you an idea of age.
The remaining ones from seed are just now starting to show so those I don't need to worry about, correct?
I know pics would help but in the midst of freaking out I dropped my phone I'd just used to take pics of the Mazar with, into the fucking mucky swamp. I'll try and find a comparable pic from last year and edit this soon.
So, my question is this... am I correct in thinking that the plants that are just barely showing themselves safe, the autos safe and the Mazar a fucking crapshoot? What is the window of time females are most likely to be pollinated?! I threw a big towel over each plant and tipped them both over right into and under the water.... they can no longer pollinate shit, right?
This is from last year but almost exactly the same as far as age. Am I fucked?
