Help!!! Want To Grow Shrooms!!

I want to grow shrooms very very veery badly!! I want to use them for personal use, because i love shrooms, but have no idea how to grow them. I have looked at a few websites and have found mushrooms kits but i need help on which one to pick and how to grow the shit!!

Should i grow them in my closet?? which is my own closet that no one goes into. or should i grow them in the forest?


PLEEEEEEEEEEEEZ HELP my budget is $40!!!!!!!!!!!!!

get one syringe.
walmart has 1/2 pint canning jars for 13.48
brown rice powder is couple bucks so....vermiculite was 8.00 for 5 lbs. can get half that amount.

15+14+4=33

then go to shroomery.org and follow the pf tek recipe. that should get you enough to get started. dont think i forgot anything.

also there are other ways to make a cheap terrarium for fruiting aside from the aquarium, so dont let that deter you.

do the research and have patience. its hard but i believe "with great effort comes great rewards"

hey bud this is your link Shroomery - Simple Cubensis Growing Technique follow this guide perfectly - by your spores from lil' shop of spores- they are far better company than spores 101. this works Ive done it. texis strain from lil' shop of spores pinned mushrooms in 2 and a half weeks!!!!good luck

cant say a word about lilshop of spores as i have no info and can only speak from exp.

one of the reasons i went with spores 101 was that they had the most variety IN STOCK were the other 2 sites listed didnt have them in stock or didnt have what i wanted at all.

also 101 seems to be the cheapest. i would say go either way. you now have atleast 2 recommend sites to order from and that more than what you started with.

Yeah, you could grow some nice shrooms with all that. You don't need vermiculite and pearlite, just use the verm. If you looking to do a lot of this, you may consider making some liquid culture so you don't have to keep buying spores.

i've found making my own spore syringes is better than liquid or agar cultures.

i bought from thehawkseye.com a while ago, way cheaper back then.

ok guys!! i just got all the materials except for the spores!!! THERE ON THEIR WAY IN THE MAIL!!
Now i just heated up the vermiculite and brown rice in the oven, then i boiled water and mixed the vermiculite and brown rice in the oven, i mixed that shit with the boiled water, and made this clumpy crap.

THENNNNNNNNN i filled like 5 1/2 pint mason jars with the crap and left a half inch at the top...

thennnnnnnn i put a sheet of tinfoil on the top and pushed it down so there is a little pool where i can put some vermiculite that was also cooked in the oven. I put the vermiculite that was cooked in the oven by itself i put that on each little pool in the mason jar. So EACH mason jar has crap filled up to a half inch less from the top. aND I PUT THE VERMICULITE in the pool on top of the foil.
Then i put on the mason jar cover and put on the seal and sealed em tight.

SO I HOPE I DID EVERYTHIGN RIGHT!!

O FUCK i used brown rice instead of BROWN RICE FLOUR!! is that okay??? i'm following these directions Magic mushroom growing for dummies

i did read somewhere that brown rice can be used.

BUT, it does sometimes have a VERY HEAT RESISTANT strain of bacteria. i forgot what it was called BUT it read that even if you sterilize the rice this bacteria can withstand the heat and still contam your jars.


the solution is to let the rice(unground) soak for 24-48 hours before sterilization. what this does is it tricks the bacteria into growing AND THEN during the sterilization process it gets killed.


p.s. if your waiting for your spores and you have mixed everything already, then that means the rice is moist. this may be enough to "trick" the bacteria to start growing. then you can re-sterilize your jars BEFORE inoculating them and you just might be safe.

ok thanks!!!!!!!!!! but i mixed everything already but i didnt boil the jars yet, should i boil the jars, like put the jars in water that covers the jars half way and boil em.

Or should i just wait till i get the spores then boil the jars??????? PLEEZ HELP lol

BUMPPPPPPPPPPPPPP i'm boiling the jars right now i'm gonna boil em for 90 minutes, on a slow boil. i have the jars with the vermiculite and rice in em already mixed etc etc etc . And when i'm done boiling them i'm going to let them cool off all night tonight. soo pleeeeeez do help still , i 'm getting my spores in the next couple of days

i watched that but i'm wondering since i just sterilized the jars, i'm not getting my spores for like another 2 days, SOOOOOOOOOOO I'M WONDERING IF I CAN JUST PLACE THE JARS IN MY CLOSET AND THEN GET THE SPORES AND INNOCULATE THE JARS ETC ETC ETC

just before you plan to inoculate the jars with your spores, sterilize them again. then you should be safe.

LIKE I SAID IN LAST POST!!!!!

let the rice sit with the vermiculite as you have it made NOW. IT MIGHT be moist enough to get the BAD BACTERIA to grow in a couple of days.

ONCE this has happened THEN and ONLY THEN will the steam sterilization work to kill it.

then after it cools you should be safe to inoculate.

dont forget to shake syringe between jars AND use alcohol and a small shot glass.

put alcohol in glass and light on fire. between inoculating jars your can pass the needle thru the flame to re-sterilize THE NEEDLE between jars.

I DID NOT DO THIS and i think it caused contam.

I also DID NOT SHAKE the syringes between jars and i have uneven growth.
