Help setting up a drying space

Too late, I am all setup and actually think its the best I ever setup. I was chasing tail a little bit but figured out what to do, a bit tedious but the goal is rosin. If I miss the window similar to cure window, I am left with just smoking weed.

If I did I would save a little more money with it lasting slightly longer but only slightly. A oz if it hits me good roughly last 10 days. 4gs wax/rosin in 4-5 days. Any concentrate hits me right where weed Is strain dependent.

After dabbing only for a year its a upbeat energetic high and weed is groggy/sleepy. Hard to go back but I can. Im about to smoke joints of cured attempt weed and just to have something home made laying around to smoke any time.

Not much though, I want to have more rosin than know what to do with.

Ok so the process is coming together. The first larf batch I cut was reading 65rh for a while so I jarred it after smoking some.

I need to time how long it stays at target rh because that was too soon. It wasnt lighting up right. It wasnt breaking down to smoke, just splitting into mushy chunks that you cannot break down. Harsher. Then a day or two later goes by.

I bag test at 66-68rh indeed being jarred too soon but not ruining anything. I left bag open to air out for 4 hrs and test again. 61rh. Next morning (today). I smoke some before jarring for good. 9 days drying.

It has some stems snapping a little like the how to says it will. It broke down to smoke all the way to the calyx with no issues. No issues smoking it. Smokes like weed that is more on the hydrated side.

Not harsh at all but did this to compar smoking it a few weeks from now. No grass smell or taste though, its already gone.

Tastes good. Banana pheno is strong from the banana punch heritage. Though my room mate says smells like strawberries but no grass clipping smell even when it was wet still.

So I am getting a hang of the process, do not dry in under 60rh or it will dry out too fast. I can follow the how to without issues at 60rh but I double down when it is starting to reach close to 70rh after a while reading vs right away.

I start that process a little early where it is in bags with lid open for 2-4 hrs. I got big bags and more calibers.

Im ready for a full load in two weeks. Then a smaller but full sized plant in following two weeksish. Not looking like a yielder but I love the lemon smell and resin smothered buds. Then off to a whole new cycle with two new strains.

Im about to press this half oz ish soon as it hits below 66rh.

Does anyone bother with drying/curing sugarleaf? I think I recently heard that the curing happens with the resin too?

For example, does flash drying sugarleaf effect the tricomes you could later sift or extract? I never see what people do with their trim in this intance and why.

I can smoke the flash dried trim in 48 hrs but it stays harsh. This time at 60/60 its been like 4 days and they are just starting to dry. Wondering if it will be less harsh. Not sure how the resin is effected.

I saw a video of extract maker saying they let their live resin air cure for a minute because it didnt get a chance to cure.

Is there a part to curing resin thats not just about grass smell since the plant matter was removed? To bring out better smells? I have a strain that yields a lot of sugar leaf and want to properly process it.

I had a plant that dried to 50rh and dropping as I messed with it. Didnt yield any rosin so I grinded it and freeze/dry sifted. Didnt yield any kief rosin. It didnt damage the kief too bad so I saved it and smoked it recently in large doses.

It had this irritating lung sensation that Im learning now to describe as weed that dried too fast and no cure. Just lungs feeling like they smoked wet herb which you wouldnt know until you grew or had some yourself.

Not bad like smoking buds with early undeveloped seeds, had that before. Or a seed or two in the bowl. But this is not as bad but still in a way thats un pleasant and perhaps harder on the lungs.

Wow this topic makes me talk alot but I need to see my way through it and accomplish this and think I am close. Its the last part of process after all the work so it had me going haywire. But now just curious about the trim.

How long does it take you to trim 2-4oz? Just wondering if I am getting faster but that takes me all day, like 10 hrs or little more. Can you wet trim with bud trimmers?

Kongs krush second batch on day 6 and chemdog 5 days. Theyre in the phase of getting close to closing bag to strictly open/close and monitor to cure zone.

Leaving hygrometer in 60rh allows it to read faster in bag test and when leaving it open it gives me an idea of where its at in phases.

Meter in bag with open lid reading closer to 60 is a sign to leave bag closed overnight to spend all day opening/closing bag and bag testing it.

If meter reads 70 plus, leave bag open overnight. 8hrs. Thats with meter in bag with bag open reading 70 plus. Said to put back outside jars to dry 12-24 hrs but I leave it like that if it was getting crispy.

Crispy and dry to touch I put in bags with open lid which helps keep buds hydrated and even rehydrate it a little bit on edges. I shuffle buds around daily. So that slows down the dry.

I keep checking stems of buds to see if they snap. They should start to around 64rh or just below. Any constructive critisism let me know.

Bag test 58 rh I trimmed all day and neglected to bag it a bit earlier but not bad, still in cure zone. So I jarred. Shouldnt it be smokable? Why is it smoking wet still?

Not all stems snap but some do. Was dry to the crisp on outside because I put weed back on shelf to air out faster.

Took 11 hrs to go from 76 to 58rh at 60rh in dry space. Keeping in open bag slowed it down but was taking too long so worried about mold, so I put back on shelf outside of bag.

The buds would regain flex as I put in bag but this time theyre staying a certain way. Dry to the touch on outside. Barely breaks down to smoke appropriately but after sweating and drying out more, should smoke normal soon.

It gets less harsh soon as it dries enough to burn right and stops smoking wet but have a chance to see what curing can do. Why is it burning wet? Is it just that, needs time to sweat some times?

My first larf batch I cut and tried to cure is a about a week into cure maybe more. It breaks down but it still has a wet feel to it but not too wet to jar unless you want to cut it close or miss the cure window entirely. Any comments on that?

I will say it smoked like hydrated weed but could smoke better. I need store bought weed at 64rh to compare how it burns but mine could burn better.

I will say the green smell is gone and its more aromatic than before. It grew smelling like banana but is curing to have this wonderpie pheno smell but havent had it before. Just based on wonder pie taste and smell description.

Very fruity and cream smell. Am I doing the cure right?

As far as the auto trimmer that will have to wait. I had a space war with room mates that I ended up winning because I dont have much stuff. They agreed and are making space for my stuff but after that intense dispute I dont want to push it.

Will het the hand crank bowl which should help me actually learn to use it and then reward myself with the auto one.

Will get one before next harvest. Trim jail was too much even though it was only like 5oz.

I have a few batches weed now to compare. I notice my cured kongs krush after almost two weeks smells a lot more than a more recent cut that I pressed and left in bag in dry room. It dried to a crisp and has little smell but it smokes better.

My curing batch is still breaking down and smoking wet. As far as harshness, its not really at all when smoking out a bubbler vs bowl. I did try store bought in a bowl and was very smooth, like a light gold cig vs blacks or reds of whatever brand. Like I didnt just take a hit of anything, no urge to cough.

Smoked chemdog auto that also sat around to dry to a crisp, same thing, less harsh out bubbler and smokes right, stays lit. I feel like curing takes away the smokability. I really need to try store weed thats hydrated to see if its just me but my curing weed wouldnt pass the joint test.

But if I dry it out further I ruin the whole point of curing dont I? I like my weed brittle a little. The cured weed changed aromas to a very candy smell which is nice, makes me a believer in curing. Its notably different.

The curing weed still has a lot of flex to it, is it jarred too early? Shouldnt it of sweated by now? I could of sworn it was jarred at 60rh after reading that for long enough. edit did bag test again on curing weed its 53rh. So what gives a wet feel/smoke to it?

I just realized I harvested half a p between two plants. Growing is pretty labor intensive. Cant wait to see what a bud trimmer does. Its IMO the most labor intensive of the whole process. Took like 2-3 days to harvest.

Willing to keep doing it, its amazingly rewarding. Hopefully the trimmer gets rid of half to work. I had a bad posture setup though, I ought to use a desk and office chair. Nice lighting.

I left the cured weed out the jar in a bag over night and dried to a crisp and smokes but lacks smell. So I just dont get it. 53rh being so wet. I was worrying about mold. I have more curing but my best smoke is the crispy side.

Bumping this. I have couple bags of prime nugs. 62rh after 24hrs reading. It is curing.

Why does it smoke wet, meaning you have to scorch it with a lighter to get it lit and by time it stays lit it is almost gone and scorched.

I want to give half away but idk what to do. It smokes like I want it to when I dry it to a crisp but then the smell and freshness is gone.

Does it further dry out in jars or something and become more smokeable? Ive smoked store bought that I tested at 64rh to press but based on their comsistancy I had a bunch of the same prepacked weed.

Also other store bought that seemed sticky/fresh and high in rh or sticky weed, they still burned just not as vigorous as brittle weed. Still smokes in joints.

My weed is coming out wet. I can break it apart and almost feels like fresh sticky weed but a tad bit wet. Better than my first batch that was too wet but still in 53rh which should be dry enough to smoke.

I smoked some 62rh curing weed that I mentioned. It smokes but not that great. I think I am going to just do what I know best and let it dry out so it smokes to my liking.

Unless it has a dedicated jar its going to lose rh opening and closing. If it sits in bag where ever, it will dry out. Cant control what people do with it after curing but smells gone soon as it dries.

Smoking some crisp weed from last grow and its just my liking anyway. Will keep trying to learn more on curing but wow its a whole thing of its own.

Test that hygrometer. You may find that it's off by several percent.

So you just wet salt in a bag and bag test it and should be 75%? Will try it now.
