Iam new to all of this and seen your post. My plants look like your pics here they are from seeds planted on Jan 21. I hear all different ways to look for the differences between the males and females but at this point how can I be sure? I have one femenised seed and don't see much difference between them. When do you recommend putting them on 12/12?

After they show their sex, about 30-35 days from seed. You can let it veg dor as long as you want! The longer the better. Gives you more time to prune/ train your plants to achieve as many bud sites as you want. I've supercropped the last 2 of my Cotton Candy's, and now I'm getting almost triple from what I was getting.

Hey so i put my seeds out on aug 28. i live in cali in a "subtropical year round outdoor grow climate" and they're about 6 inches now doing good, and showing sex.
At night I put them in a tent with a light, but its not a very strong light.
My question is, since they're showing sex are they going to stop vegging and flowering?? should i start killing off the males?
help!

definitely ditch the males, as soon as you can telll its got balls ditch it or the rest of your plants will do the same. You can keep a plants in veg as long as you want, as long as you have the right lights temp air exchange etc. With an outdoor grow I would imagine this being hard to do.
How big is your tent and what lights are you using?

its a giant gazebo where i close all sides of it. its over 7ft tall in height its HUGE. and its a pretty low wattage bulb and it hangs right above the plants, but i cant make it hang lower..
so i've come to the conclusion that i need to go get a light for them but what kind should i get? im hoping to pay around 60-80$?? and my plants get light starting at 10am in the morning to around 4-5..

Ok let me explain...
Between 4 to 8 weeks your plant will preflower and can show its sex. If it has the 2 hairs it is a female if not then a male.. But not all plants are going to show at the same time. The ball looking things that come up between the nodes are on EVERY plant. If they have hairs its a female if not then a male. I have 5 of the same strain right now. Strain unknown. 7 weeks old and still in veg. 2 of them just started showing female hairs just 3 days ago. Be patient and make sure its a male before you go throwing it out.

Well some strains take longer to show their sex like some of the ones I had showed in 3 weeks others in 6 weeks so if you want to find out befor you take a clone off one and put that clone to 12/12 then it will show it's sex like with In a week

No they arnt in flower they are just showing their sex when it does that its called a pre-flower it won't actually flower until you switch to 12/12 there are some ways that they can flower by them self either with certain stress or if it's an auto flower which switches to flower by age and not light schedule
