ok i have a few q's

1.can i use a cfl light throughout the whole grow?

2.how big of a container do i need to grow a QP ?

ABSOLUTLEY for the cfl thing =) the lighting schedule is wat triggers the plants to flower. as for container alot of people start with like a pixie cup and end with anywhere between 3-5 gal is common. happy grows it!! =) good luck blaaaaaayze!!

1.not a cfl but 2 diff color spec
2.good luck doin that with a cfl

firstly u cannot be doing with ' a cfl light throughout you grow ' ..if so u need a one with nice wattage ..and then hw many plants are we talking of??? u have to consider that too....for me start off with a container not too small or too big...if its too small ull have to transplant it quite fast which is again stressfull for ur young plants...then again too big means problems like root rot or getting of your topsoil dried up fast in comparison to the whole of the container...just use a bit of your intution, commonsense , and some knowlegde from RIU or the internet ofcourse!!! a,d ull be doing good....Good Luck Man!! happy growing

cfls throughout grow is possible ive seen it done and the plants come out looking decent, however using a hps of some sort will deff give you a better lookin plant which means better yeild in the long run (use if you want optimal growth/flower). both posts above should be looked at too =) cfls are more challenging to flower and im sorry i didnt get the whole "a cfl" thing thank you green, and you deffinatley can not do much of anything with "a cfl", but multiple is a for sure thing =) i deff suggest maybe picking up a book and educating yourself a lil more on the cultivation of Mary Jane youll thank yourself (george cervantes, ed rosenthal both good authors, "ask ed" is a good one), youll learn more from books then people with opinions however youll learn some secret ways to do things or maybe alternative methods that are cheaper or even a short cut on this website and its a great place to learn as well. well happy grows it Smoke =One.

thanks for all your help the problem is I have a really low budget so the cfl is the only light I could get but I plan on useing the money from it to buy more equipment so thanks for the info.

I use 6 cfls and 2 grow lights on mine, i have 2 going right now with seeds on the way, hopefully have 5 plants going at one, then i will add 4 more cfls and another grow light.
