Fuzzbutter, I am going to go germ a few seeds right now, then do exactly what you say. Thank you for the thoughts! I will let you know what happens! Should I try a humidity dome as well? Any thoughts?

you don't need a dome, but you could use one if you wanted.

Ok so I have three Afghan seeds in wet paper towels on a plate all covered with plastic wrap, that is sitting on top of my grow box where it is pretty warm. I will update when they go into soil.

it doesn't need to be that warm, in fact, too warm and they're liable to get mold or fungus. room temp of 60-80 F is fine for germinating.
