Help please, light intensity and distance.

Hi just purchased the mars hydro FC-E4800, just wondering if the chart they provide for distance and intensity is accurate and should be followed as I was doing some research and found some slightly different distances for the different stages. It takes some trial and error, but in general when you first get a new light, start conservative. You can always lower it or increase the %, but it's much harder to bring back plants that got fried from too much light.

Okay thanks, makes sense. So would you say those given distances look good or should I go a little higher?
 
Buy a cheap quantum PAR meter. Voila. Your questions answered on the spot and you know what you're delivering. $150 on Amazon.
