Help plants too tall for cab

Hi Im growing in a cab and thought the plants were and indica come to find out they are a tall ass sativa strain. The plants are two weeks into flowering and the tops are too close to the lights. A friend said I could top the plant about five inches or so clone the cuttings and let the plant flower. My question is how bad would this affect the yield and having a big top cola? Anyone ever had to do this in the past and what was the outcome?

You cant clone once flowering has started with any success, from what I've read. Never tried personally. I would not top it for sure! Try bending it away from the lights and tying it back. You may end up with a twisted looking wreck of a plant when its all said and done, but atleast you won't severely stress the plant AND lose the main cola! Enjoy your smoke!

I have rooted clones from a flowering plant dozens of times

Thanks for the responses, however my concern is not taking clones at this point, its the yield after cutting off the top of the plant where the top cola would normally be. Has anyone ever had to do this before, what was the out come?

pinch and bend over the limbs
Thanks dude thats exactly what I did, they are arched big time I hope it turns out well. These things are over two foot tall in a cab. If I would of known they were a sativa strand I would of flowered them earlier and kept the light close to it to reduce stretch, instead I kept the light as far as possible thinking theyll never grow that tall:wall: But its cool they should produce a shit ton of buds this way, the light reaches the whole stem now instead of just half way down. This error can prove to be a great learning tool for better production in this cab.
