no need to transplant ans shock them...just cut back on the feedings and water more...i bet youve been giving them the same ammount of water since they've been in those pots...always water untill there is runoff...rootbound is a term thrown around here...way too much. it is very hard to get a plant rootbound to the point where they cant uptake anything.

on some old forums that got shut down, a guy was doing 12/12 from seed on a indica (forgot which strain), he did it in 24oz coke bottles. he was getting a oz a plant every two weeks.

Just checked with a couple buddies they have mixed feelings too.
one thing we all agree on is if u decide u want or need more room for the roots the best way to achieve it would be to cut the bottom off the existing pot and set it on top of a new pot. This won't disturb the existing root structures but it will give a new place for fresh root tips to grow.

My first worry is loss of vertical growing space. So I'd go with shallow and wide. The first thing i can think of are those shallow rubbermade containers from walmart be sure to drill lots of holes. If u have some verticle space i'd set it on the same volume pot bot on of the smart pots or roots organics pots. Biggest benefit would be more/new root growth which will send hormone pulses to corresponding growth tips to stimulate additional/new growth as well.

IF u decide to add additional room for ur roots to grow my second concern would be selecting a soil/grow medium that does not have a storage of nutrients. This is important since u are 3 weeks in u don't want extra nutrients that haven't been released to interfere with flushing. A couple good choices are sunshine HP(high pourosity) or to keep it OMRI there is an organic version of sunshine #4 but u need to add coco (up to half the volume to increase oxygen holding capacity) down to earth has good prices and they're OMRI as well.

I also got recommendations in line with the other responses here too. Keep it in the same pot and make sure to increase watering. You may have to water A LOT and with much frequency.

Someone even suggested pruning inside nodes and some lower branches. This would be in line with trimming fan leaves when cloning. U would reduce the amount of stoma by a percentage. Likewise the amount of water released from the plant to the atmosphere will have a corresponding percentage decrease as well. This should mean that more water stays in ur soil longer. It would also divert growth energy to the remaining colas and other bud sites.

I know three weeks in seems really late to try all this crazy stuff but I have seen insane results when pruning even as late as day 25 but only cut branches whose tops are out of direct light or just the lower bud sites that are completely shaded.

So if all this seems overwhelming, too stressful or u just don't have a comfortable gut feeling about it then Don't Do It. These girls are all yours so love them the best you can and everything will work out for the best.

Easiest method: follow the advice regarding not reporting and use the other suggestions in the future. When you feel they are right

PEACE AND LOVE

Your plants are in too small of pots.I would bet money on that.you dont want to stress them but your plants are so stretched their rootball is too big.stick your finger in your soil and i bet you feel roots(be careful use clean hands and be gentle)so they are drying out and building up salts HORRIBLY I imagine you need to flush then let them recover then re-pot into a bigger container.then water with plain water for a few waterings then get back on a nute cycle. That is classic lockout from the look of it.check your ph level on your soil runoff and if its high I bet im right on the money.Ive had the same problem.they should perk up and keep on trucking.good luck

lift the buckets and see how heavy they are, most likely over water or under water. i dont think its too much nutes i run 4 tsp tiger bloom.

Gaia, Thank you so much for the guidance! I did lift the pots yesterday and they were very light....i gave them a good watering (without any nutes) and crossed my fingers, hoping for the best. this morning i woke up and checked on them around 5:30am and their leaves had lifted !!!! wooo wooo!!!! i gave them a heavy watering with their nutes around 7:30am and when i checked back later in the afternoon, they looked soooo happy....happy enough that i do believe that under-watering was the problem!!!
i can't thank you all enough for the advice and help you gave me through all of this!! you all have very good karma coming your way! it's not easy being green :) i'll post some more pics so you all can see the ladies rockin!

i think because of the size of your plants compared to the pots that the soill will dry out very quick so keep an eye on them. like said above just lift the pot when you've just watered it will feel heavy, once it starts to feel light water again, always pour until you get run off.
