Help plant leaves down and grown stoped?

Surely it doesnt take very long to learn the method of lifting the pots during the various grow stages. It should be one of the more elementary aspects of growing in pots. If you can't hardly lift the bastard with one hand, water is the last thing it needs.
A pot that needs watered should almost feel like its empty.
Now I admit, I use at least 30 % perlite in my pots so they tend to be a little light overall but still, this isn't a hard one to learn.

not tryin to burst your bubble, cap'n, just asking for common sense. if his plant looks like crap, he waters it, and it looks even crappier, chances are it's not under watering causing the problem.

I just harvested about a pound of the wettest, saddest plants you've ever seen. i can tell you for a fact overwatering looks almost exactly like underwatering. The plant withers up, shrivels, and starts falling over. This happens because when the soil is too wet for too long the electrochemical levels of the dirt and the plant's cell walls become reversed and the dirt actually leeches moisture out of the plant.

Overwatering is worse than underwatering, for a ton of reasons. Instant correction as opposed to extended time-lapse or transplantation, simple lack of moisture compared to the diseases and ailments plants can become susceptible to mold, rot, all kinds of nasty things.

Basically it wouldn't be a problem if it was underwatered. He could pout some water and the problem is solved, bam, boom, kango-kabango, taken care of. It's not underwatering, it's overwatering, so therefore it's actually a big fucking problem and something that should be taken care of rather than sitting around staring at, in my opinion. Goddamn why you assholes have to play devil's advocate just to make me spout all this nonsense for a simple fucking problem that could have been addressed in one or two sentences. what the fuck.
Well technically if it is overwatering, all you can do is sit around.. And wait for it to dry out..

The way I see it is the op said that his soil mix is 50% perlite, which makes it hard to over water because the drainage is good, unless you constantly dump gallons of water in to the pot twice a day and never let it dry out. So that's why I said under water. But you win. It's over watering and he shouldn't water again for a couple weeks, because the way his plants look now they are drowning in a pool

now my leafs are all shriveled up and some have black spots and some have tiny holes?
So I take it you haven't watered at all right? It looks like you got some nute lockout going on or something bad brewing in the soil, that doesn't look too good :-?, good luck man

I did a underwatering test the past day to show exactly what a underwatered plant looks before and after a watering, just for a reference point in case someone does run into the easily fixed problem Hope it helps someone at some point.

BTW, sorry for the wrong info about your plant being underwatered. I was wrong.

Best thing to do next time if over watering is a problem is make your soil extremely airy with a lot of drainage, that way it's almost impossible to over water. :peace:

i also think it is over watered... and your lights arent good enough u def need to put it in a 5gal stick ur finger in ur pot every day it should be moist past an inch if its not, water it to the point where its moist like i said. perlite drains really fast but retains moisture really well. so u dont have to water the shit out of it.. i could be wrong though
for 1 gallons i would just count to 3 and 5 gallons i count to 7 and i check every day if it is feeding really well it will dry out within a day or two if it isnt then youve got some other issues

soil only becomes crusty ontop if you dont cultivate it, your suppose to cultivate it to aid drainage/air and prevent crap buildup down there u gota stick ur finger in the pot get dirty thats how u know if it needs water not by looking at the top crust

My girls are just bouncing back from an overwatering....After a week of droopy, yellowing and brown and black spoty plants, I repoted into bigger pots. This morning, they are standing back up and on the road to recovery. It seems that overwatering can set them back quite a bit.

don't think the 2nd's gonna make it, sorry. best you can do is keep it out of direct light, maybe even keep it in total darkness. in the dark the plant doesn't have to worry about processing light, it can just focus on trying to heal itself. probably not going to happen, that plant looks to be done for. Another thing you could try is putting a plastic bag over the whole plant, like a humidome, spray some water into the bag to charge the air with lots and lots of moisture and seeing if that helps it. Other than that, it's probably a goner.
