Help Needed with first CFL Grow Op

Hi there,

I'm quite new to growing buds so could do with a little help from the experts :) I've got my seeds sorted, planning on having three plants in a closet but am a little stuck with what CFL lights to buy (I'm a student with a limited source of income). Any suggestions for a CFL grow op that wouldn't be too demanding on the pocket and not catch the attention of any law enforcement agencies because of high power bills. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards,

Chineoh

Hey man...im on my first grow too but id like 2 say im not doing to bad...basically thought read all the stickied posts on the top of this forum...starting with these 2

but basically...u want to either get some higher wattage bulbs. or get alot of lower wattage bulbs. 6500k bulbs which are usually labeled daylight. or full spectrum. for the vegatative stage. I also hear mixing spectrum bulbs such as a good bit of daylight(6500k) bulbs and a good couple soft white(2700k) or other 2700k bulbs. Then when u are ready to flower. u want to have more softwhite (2700k). 6500k produces more of a blueish light and is good for veg stage, and then 2700k produces more of a redish light which is better for flowering. To keep ur plants in the vegatative state keep ur lights on timers which stay on either 18-6. or 24/0 i do 18/6 because i think its good for ur plant to have alil night time where they can cool down and rest foralil...when ur ready to flower start 12/12. and lettem go. Anyways goto walmart first they are always cheapest on bulbs but if u dont have 1 somehow hit up home depot or lowes. hope this helps lemme know if u have anymore questions. but read read read on the forums because these people are a wealth of knowledge. I learned most what i know from here

If you can swing it. Go for a 100w cfl for veg. then add 3-42w 2700k the 100w is a fixture and you would need to put a cord and plug on it. the 42w can be put in clamp lights or find a pre made light bar.

I would think a 100w u tube would work great for growing. I need to look into those. Don't know how I missed them I buy at 1000bulbs all the time.

Say if I wanted to have 3 plants would five, 20W CFL'S suffice (warm white)? And when I want to go into flowering stage would I cut it down to 2 or 3 lights with 12 hours on 12 hours off?

floro tubes are ok if they are the newer T5 ones but the old ass T12's are garbage ill tellin you go to 1000bulbs.com order one or two 105W CFL bulbs im pretty sure they are like 25-26 dollars each if you only buy one get the daylight spec (5000k) an you can get a decent harvest off 1-4 plants If you go two get a daylight and a 2700K one and use them at the same time from seed to harvest
