Help my plants! They are wilting.

So my 6 White Rhino's are wilting and I am not sure why. I put them yesterday into my tent with a 1k MH. The temp is around 70-80 degree F, I have lots of air movement. I can make the temp rise or lower if needed. I also watered a bit today. Is it over watering, under watering?

That is over watering/root rot.

how often and how much do you water

Not a whole lot, I think it is both maybe over watering and the fact that these girls just went into my tent yesterday.

how close is the light

Do you have enough drainage in your pots? Your soil could also be trapping water also.

go to lowes tomorrow and get a moisture meter but dont leave it the dirt after u check the moisture it will ruin it also use a green scrubby to wipe it off with so shit dont stick to it

The light is a good few feet away, I would say 4 feet. I stuck my finger in just before watering and it felt dry up until about root depth

The soil in the last pic looks pretty dry. A 1000 watter kicks off a lot of heat, If you have decent drainage, I'd water them pretty good, they should perk up.

Ok, thank you. That is what I thought but everyone has been telling me too much water is the case. Should I try to only water soil and not hit the leaves?

I agree with Ledhed, they do look a little dry. If you just moved them under the HID light they

will need a few days to acclimate to the intense light. I would just raise my light a little higher or

move the plants further away for a few days until they adjust. If they are recently transplanted

clones the root systems will also need a few days to establish enough for the leaves to transpire

enough water to keep them cool and comfortable. I would suggest useing a spray bottle instead

of hitting them with the watering can when you water, until they recover. They will be standing

pretty in no time! GoOd LuCk! J.

I agree the soil looks VERY dry, & these plants r shocked from the strong mh and the heat in the room. they should definitely perk back up in a day or two. with that heat its going to be hard to overwater, so make sure when u do water it is all the way through until it comes out the bottom. Start using the "water by weight" system to make sure u r not under or over watering. water ur plants till the water starts coming out the bottom, set down, re-lift & make a mental note of how heavy they r. Then check in 2 days by lifting the pot. U will soon know when they need to be watered to feel that "heavy" again. U dont have to worry much about water getting on the leaves, sometimes that will burn the leaves when the light is too close.

If the top of the soil is dry...say a fingures depth. Then you need to water them
