Help MOLD

I use and aerogarden to house a mother plant and make clones ( flowering done in a different setup). Ive made 2 sets of clones and it works great however...I took my third set of trimming the other day and put them in the Ag to take root and mold took over and the cutting where covered in mold in 2 days and died. After inspection I found mold on the mother plant under the little piece of paper at its base.. a very small amount but it jumped all over the clones any reason why?

Is there any way of getting rid of it without killing the mother plant I have in there? Shes a good girl, done right by me so if I can save her I would love to. If not does anyone know how to clean the thing good so I get all the mold. Im open to any good ideas ive thouhgt of soaking the whole machine in a large rubbermaid full of rubbiing alcohol.

Any help would be great

thanks.

That sounds like damping off, which is the common name for several nasty fungi. Some of our favorites like pythium and botrytis are to blame, so what you need is sterile stuff to start, and a fungicide to kill the fungus. You may save your plant, but you'll have to do it now. I've heard of ground cinnamon sprinkled on the top of the medium acts as a fungicide, or some Neem Oil, or Zero Tolerance.
