oh and i would try to get a fan blowing new air in the room atleast once a day. they'll choke themselfs from the oxygen the release
i let mine go until they wilt. then i dump enough water on top to just cover the surface. you can lift them and feel the weight of the pot to determine how watered they are. they can handle wilting. it won't hurt them as bad as over watering.how often do you think i should water them then fdd2blk
Yep, and you old fart you are talking about soil grows, right? LOL I agree. Water, soil and runoff ph are 3 completely different things.i NEVER check my PH.
looks over watered.
5.8-6.0 hydro/6.5-6.8 for soil. (these are medium levels) Hydro has no buffer or medium, thus the low ph. Soil on the otherhand has a buffer. The 6.5-6.8 number is more about the soils ph, not the nute solution. Start with good balanced medium. Follow a basic feed/water/water feeding schedule. Ph probaly will not be an issue. If it is it will be much later in the grow cycle. And most tapwater is acceptable to grow with, most falling between 8.5 and 6.5 (municipal-need to let it set in an open container for 24-48 hours to allow the clhorine to evaporate off.) Also never use ANY water from the hotside. Calcified Lime, a bad, bad thing. I guess you just really need too know what you are starting with, water wise that is.well i would deffinatly go get a cheap PH kit. you most likely will kill every plant you sprout if you dont know what the ph is. Ph is one of the most important things about growing. with a bad ph the plant cannot suck any nutrients and minerals out of the water, it should b between 5.8-6.0 some people say 6.0-6.5 but really it depends on the genetics of the plant. and i guess if its workin for ya then go for it. but still it would b a good idea to get some fox farm happy frog or fox farm ocean forest soil. theyre pretty much made to grow cannabis. but do what works for you.
